Sperm DNA fragmentation testing: Summary evidence and clinical practice recommendations
We herein summarise the evidence concerning the impact of sperm DNA fragmentation in various clinical infertility scenarios and the advances on sperm DNA fragmentation tests. The collected evidence was used to formulate 41 recommendations.

In Subfertile Couple, Abdominal Fat Loss in Men Is Associated with Improvement of Sperm Quality and Pregnancy: A Case-Series [PDF]
International audienceBackground: The impact of overweight among men of reproductive-age may affect fertility. Abdominal fat, more than body mass index, is an indicator of higher metabolic risk, which seems to be involved in decreasing sperm quality ...

Male Infertility and Sperm DNA Fragmentation [PDF]
BACKGROUND: One of the main factors affecting male infertility is DNA fragmentation in sperm. Male infertility is a heterogeneous group of disorders, known causes account for only 30-50%, and unknown cause (idiopathic) constitute the rest. Infertility involves nearly 15% of couples in the reproductive age, and only the male problem involves about 40 ...

Effects of Sperm DNA Fragmentation on Semen Parameters and ICSI Outcome Determined by an Improved SCD Test, Halosperm [PDF]
Background Sperm DNA fragmentation is known as an important cause of male infertility. The influence of sperm DNA damage on reproductive potential has been subject of many studies indicating various results and remaining the subject controversial.

FSH administration reduces significantly sperm apoptosis only in the case of high DFI value: a study in idiopathic dispermic patients [PDF]
Introduction: In the last decades sperm DNA quality has been recognized as one of the most important markers of male reproductive potential (Lewis and Aitken, 2005; Ozmen, 2007; Tarozzi, 2007), in contrast to standard semen parameters as sperm density,

Body mass index and age correlate with antioxidant supplementation effects on sperm quality: Post hoc analyses from a double-blind placebo-controlled trial [PDF]
Spermatozoa are vulnerable to lack of energy and oxidative stress as a result of elevated levels of reactive oxygen species. Therefore, it is essential that appropriate nutrients are available during maturation.

Lower sperm DNA fragmentation after r-FSH administration in functional hypogonadotropic hypogonadism [PDF]
PURPOSE: An observational clinical and molecular study was designed to evaluate the effects of the administration of recombinant human FSH on sperm DNA fragmentation in men with a non-classical form of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and idiopathic ...

Types, causes, detection and repair of DNA fragmentation in animal and human sperm cells [PDF]
Concentration, motility and morphology are parameters commonly used to determine the fertilization potential of an ejaculate. These parameters give a general view on the quality of sperm but do not provide information about one of the most important ...
