Design of Carbon Capture System Utilizing Wolffia globosa and CaO Derived From Waste Seashells With Continuous Real‐Time IoT‐Based Monitoring

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Real‐time IoT monitoring resolved opposite behaviors in a hybrid capture prototype: the Wolffia globosa stage released CO2 over each 24‐h cycle, while waste‐seashell‐derived CaO removed ∼2.6 g CO2 in 20 days—only 5.5% of stoichiometric capacity, evidencing local capture rather than net carbon removal.
