Phenotypic Expression of Diaspores Indicates Genetic Diversity in Natural Populations of Spondias tuberosa (Anacardiaceae). [PDF]

open access: yesBiology (Basel)
The aim of this study was to assess phenotypic variation and its implications for genetic diversity in natural populations of Spondias tuberosa. Fruits were harvested from 38 mother plants from three natural populations, and the physical traits of the fruits, endocarps, and physiological quality of the seeds were evaluated in a completely randomized ...

Extraction Processes, Bioaccessibility, Antioxidant Capacity, and Potential Prebiotic Effect of Co-Product Extracts From Fruits of the Spondias Genus. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Food Sci
ABSTRACT This study evaluated which extraction methods among agitation (ethanol and water, 60 min), ultrasonic bath–assisted (ethanol and water, 15 min), and supercritical fluid extraction (CO₂ and ethanol, 40°C, 15 Mpa) would be superior for producing co‐product extracts from seriguela (Spondias purpurea), caja (Spondias mombin), and umbu‐caja ...

Histamine in Brazilian Foods: A Comprehensive Review of Occurrence and Risk Assessment for Intoxication and Intolerance. [PDF]

open access: yesFood Sci Nutr
Even though histamine plays an important role in human health, it has been associated with food intoxication and intolerance episodes. The most relevant, current state of knowledge regarding histamine's biochemical and health aspects is provided. Histamine levels are provided for 17 food groups, including 335 food types and 11,437 samples, allowing ...

Seed Thermal Response, and Morphological and Biochemical Plasticity in Wigandia urens as Indicators of Its Utility for Elevational and Latitudinal Assisted Migration. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
To identify the phenotypic plasticity in germination traits related to the tolerance to changes in temperature resulting from CC and improve the successful of plant cover recovery in elevational and latitudinal gradients, we assessed the amplitude and variability of phenotypic plasticity in the seed response of W.

Litter Dynamics and Nutrient Stocks in a Chronosequence of Hyperxerophilous Forest Under the Effect of Clear Felling. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
We investigated litter accumulation and nutrient stocks across a forest regeneration chronosequence in hyperxerophilous Caatinga following clear‐cutting. Using multivariate statistics and structural decomposition indices, we identified functional litter profiles and their association with nutrient cycling and soil resilience. Our findings highlight how

VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION OF Spondias tuberosa E Spondias dulcis WITH THE USE OF IMMERSION IN INDOLE ACETIC ACID [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2019
ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of six indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) concentrations and three immersion times in IAA solutions on the vegetative propagation of Spondias dulcis and Spondias tuberosa by stem cuttings. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized design, with a 6×3 factorial ...
