STAT3

Proceedings of the American Thoracic Society, 2012
Pulmonary fibrosis is a devastating, relentlessly progressive, and lethal disease. There is a significant unmet need for effective treatment since currently no FDA-approved therapies exist. Current thinking suggests that idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is initiated by pathways similar to normal wound healing, but relentless fibrosis occurs ...

Electrochemical detection of the Fc-STAT3 phosphorylation and STAT3–Fc-STAT3 dimerization and inhibition

Molecular BioSystems, 2014
Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) protein is involved in regulatory functions in cell proliferation, differentiation and survival, and is linked to cancer phenotype and tumorigenesis. Towards developing new methodologies for screening STAT3 interactions, the electrochemical method based on the use of redox active protein was ...

Abstract 1404: Novel STAT3 inhibitors targeting the STAT3 dimerization

Cancer Research, 2022
Abstract Background The STAT3 pathway may drive prostate cancer (PCa) progression to metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). STAT3 may serve as a good target for the treatment of prostate cancer. The function of STAT3 relies significantly on its SH2 domain, which promotes STAT3 homo- or hetero-dimerization, protein ...

SH3BGRL3, transcribed by STAT3, facilitates glioblastoma tumorigenesis by activating STAT3 signaling

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2021
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive tumors of the central nervous system. Here, we report that SH3 binding glutamic acid-rich protein like 3 (SH3BGRL3) was extremely highly expressed in GBM and glioma stem cells. SH3BGRL3 high expression associates with worse survival of GBM patients.

Targeting the STAT3 pathway with STAT3 degraders

Trends in Pharmacological Sciences
Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) has been widely considered as a therapeutic target for various diseases, especially tumors. Thus far, several STAT3 inhibitors have been advanced to clinical trials; however, the development of STAT3 inhibitors is hindered by numerous dilemmas.

STAT3 and cardiac remodeling

Heart Failure Reviews, 2010
Multiple in vitro and in vivo studies showed that the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) protein is involved in cardiomyocyte protection and hypertrophy and via paracrine pathways impacts on the non-myocyte compartment, i.e., the vasculature and the extracellular matrix.
