X-raying clumped stellar winds
X-ray spectroscopy is a sensitive probe of stellar winds. X-rays originate from optically thin shock-heated plasma deep inside the wind and propagate outwards throughout absorbing cool material. Recent analyses of the line ratios from He-like ions in the

Simulating supernova feedback in galaxy disks [PDF]
In this thesis I examine supernova feedback in hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy disks. Understanding this process entails the numerical evaluation of cooling in radiative shocks, and we present a set of simulations using two widely used numerical ...

Stellar magnetism, winds and their effects on planetary environments
Here, I review some recent works on magnetism of cool, main-sequence stars, their winds and potential impact on surrounding exoplanets. The winds of these stars are very tenuous and persist during their lifetime.

A Monopolar Jet from Protostar HOPS 10: Evidence for Asymmetric Magnetized Launching
A fundamental challenge in star formation is understanding how a protostar accretes mass from its circumstellar disk while removing excess angular momentum.

Abstract : WITH CLASS G main sequence and M-giant stars are given for various interst llar environments. The supersonic wind from a class G star undergoes a shock transition to subsonic flow at a radial distance of 100 - 1,000 a.u. and may extend many times farther as a subsonic flow. Thic storms. Open-ended Terms: Stellar Wind.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Molecular Bubble and Outflow in S Mon Revealed by Multiband Data Sets
We identify a molecular bubble, and study the star formation and its feedback in the S Mon region, using multiple molecular lines, young stellar objects (YSOs), and infrared data.

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

The magnetic activity, winds and planets of young, cool stars [PDF]
This thesis uses spectropolarimetry to observationally investigate the properties of dynamos and winds of young cool stars, and search for young planets.
