Spin-down of Solar-mass Protostars in Magnetospheric Accretion Paradigm

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Stellar spin is one of the fundamental quantities that characterize a star itself and its planetary system. Nevertheless, stellar spin-down mechanisms in protostellar and pre-main-sequence stellar phases have been a long-standing problem in star ...

STELLAR WIND IN THE ISM

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
After a brief review of the modern understanding of stellar wind's action on the ISM we consider two aspects of its "global" collective effect from observational viewpoint.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

New Calculations of Stellar Wind Torques

open access: yes, 2008
Using numerical simulations of magnetized stellar winds, we carry out a parameter study to find the dependence of the stellar wind torque on observable parameters.

Accretion from Stellar Winds [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1988
AbstractRecent calculations have demonstrated that accretion from a stellar wind is very probably unsteady. The average rate of accretion of angular momentum is lower by about a factor 5 than the rate at which angular momentum is deposited into the Bondi-Hoyle accretion cylinder.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

An Embedded Disk (eDisk) in the IceAge: Investigating the Jet and Outflow from Ced 110 IRS4

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We present a comprehensive study of the large-scale structure, jet and outflow morphology, and kinematics of the Class 0/I protostellar binary Ced 110 IRS4, using JWST NIRCam (F150W and F410M) and MIRI MRS observations from the JWST ERC program IceAge ...

A FUSE View of the Stellar Winds of Planetary Nebula Central Stars

open access: yes, 2009
Since the IUE satellite produced a vast collection of high-resolution UV spectra of central stars of planetary nebulae (CSPNe), there has not been any further systematic study of the stellar winds of these stars. The high spectral resolution, sensitivity

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

EPISODE. III. The Nested Jet/Outflow Morphology of EC 53 Revealed by JWST and ALMA

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present an extensive study of the structure and kinematics of the jet and outflow of EC 53, a Class I protostar with a quasiperiodic variability, using combined James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA ...
