Regulation of Expression of Sterol Regulatory Element-binding Protein 1 in Thyroid Cancer Cells

Anticancer Research, 2022
Expression of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP1) is upregulated in thyroid cancer and associated with shorter disease-specific survival. The molecular regulatory mechanisms governing SREBP1 over-expression in thyroid cancer are still unclear.Thyroid cancer cell lines BHT-101 (with the BRAF V600E mutation) and FTC-131 (wild-type for ...

[Sterol regulatory element binding protein 1 and its target gene networks].

Yi chuan = Hereditas, 2013
Sterol regulatory element binding protein 1 (SREBP-1) is one of the important nuclear transcription factors. SREBP-1 can maintain lipids dynamic equilibrium by regulating the expression of enzymes required for synthesis of endogenous cholesterol, fatty acids, triglycerides and phospholipids.

Sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 is negatively modulated by PKA phosphorylation

American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology, 2006
Sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP)-1a and -1c are key transcription factors that regulate lipid biosynthesis in cells. We identified that Ser338 located at the NH2 terminus of SREBP-1a is a PKA phosphorylation site in vitro and in HepG2 cells.

Sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP)-1: gene regulatory target for insulin resistance?

Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets, 2004
The combined appearance of different cardiovascular risk factors seems to be more prevalent in individuals with decreased insulin sensitivity and increased visceral obesity, thereby being components of the so-called metabolic syndrome. Alterations in transcription factors result in complex dysregulation of gene expression, which might be the key to ...

A Novel Splicing Isoform of Mouse Sterol Regulatory Element-binding Protein-1 (SREBP-1)

Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 1999
We cloned a cDNA encoding the NH2-terminal portion of mouse SREBP-1. The deduced amino acid sequence was 76% and 90% identical to human and hamster SREBP-1, respectively. We found out a novel splicing isoform of mouse SREBP-1 that lacks 42 amino acid residues composing a PEST sequence observed in unstable proteins.

Sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 inhibitors decrease pancreatic cancer cell viability and proliferation

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2017
Sterol regulatory element-binding protein1 (SREBP1) is a key regulatory factor that controls lipid homeostasis. Overactivation of SREBP1 and elevated lipid biogenesis are considered the major characteristics in malignancies of prostate cancer, endometrial cancer, and glioblastoma.
