Potato tubers (Solanum tuberosum L.) are usually stored at low temperature, which can suppress sprouting and control the occurrence of diseases. However, low temperatures lead potatoes to easily suffer from cold-induced sweetening (CIS), which has a ...

Factors affecting the rheological properties of gels made from hoki (Macruronus novaezelandiae) : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Technology at Massey University / [PDF]
Hoki (Macruronus novaezelandiae) is an important commercial fish in the New Zealand Exclusive Economic Zone. The resource remains underutilized with only a small proportion of the 250,000 tonnes Total Allowable Catch presently being made into added value

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Seed quality and storage performance in mungbean and peanut : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science in Seed Technology, at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]
Five seedlots of mungbean and three seedlots of peanut were assessed for seed quality using six standard laboratory tests ie. purity analysis, seed moisture content, germination, seed health, and two vigour tests (accelerated ageing, and conductivity ...

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Organic Vegetable Storage in Wales – Opportunities and Constraints [PDF]
There is a growing interest in buying local produce, but there is insufficient produce available in Wales to meet this demand. One problem is lack of storage. Much organic vegetable produce in Wales is lost by poor storage. ADAS has undertaken this study

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
