Comprehensive Analyses of Immune Subtypes of Stomach Adenocarcinoma for mRNA Vaccination

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
BackgroundAlthough messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines have unique advantages against multiple tumors, mRNA vaccine targets in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) remain unknown.

Generation of STRA6 KO mice.

open access: yes, 2013
A. Targeting strategy for generating STRA6 KO mice. The red squares on the 5′ and 3′ sides of the mouse STRA6 WT genomic sequence represent the sequences serving as probes for genotyping by Southern blotting. B. Genotyping of STRA6 mutant mice.

Mapping of the extracellular RBP4 ligand binding domain on the RBPR2 receptor for Vitamin A transport

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2023
The distribution of dietary vitamin A/all-trans retinol/ROL throughout the body is critical for maintaining retinoid function in peripheral tissues and for retinoid delivery to the eye in the support of visual function.

Recurrent Fetal Anophthalmia Caused by retinoids acid gene 6 mutations: Correlation between prenatal ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and pathology

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2022
Objective: Anophthalmia is an extreme form on the spectrum of anophthalmia-microphthalmia (A/M) syndrome. Most articles define fetal microphthalmia by an ocular diameter (OD) less than fifth percentile.

Retinoid Homeostatic Gene Expression in Liver, Lung and Kidney: Ontogeny and Response to Vitamin A-Retinoic Acid (VARA) Supplementation from Birth to Adult Age. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Vitamin A (VA, retinol) metabolism is homeostatically controlled, but little is known of its regulation in the postnatal period. Here, we determined the postnatal trajectory of VA storage and metabolism in major compartments of VA metabolism-plasma ...

STRA6: A gatekeeper of neuronal vitamin A homeostasis

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2013
Mutations in the STRA6 gene are associated with fatal Human Micro‐ophthalmic Syndrome 9. We generated a mouse model to elucidate the biochemical basis of this congenital disease. These mice failed to transport vitamin A across the blood‐retina and ‐ brain barrier and developed blindness, brain anomalies and hydrocephalus.

Schematic diagrams of the locations of key positions in STRA6 whose acute modifications block vitamin A transport by STRA6.

open access: yes, 2013
A. Helical wheel presentations of residues L293 to L303 and residues F379 to H389. Residues whose modification by MTSEA-biotin impedes vitamin A transport by STRA6 are labeled in light red. These key residues are located on the same side of the helix. B.

In silico analysis of putative interactions identifies fibroblasts as hubs for cell–cell communication during early regeneration of the zebrafish heart

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The zebrafish heart regenerates upon injury. During injury response, fibroblasts and endothelial cells accumulate at the site of damage, and cardiomyocyte cell cycle reentry allows cardiac muscle regrowth. It is relevant to understand how the different cell types communicate with each other to coordinate regeneration.

Uptake Routes and Biodistribution of Polystyrene Nanoplastics on Zebrafish Larvae and Toxic Effects on Development

open access: yesFishes, 2023
Polystyrene (PS) is the most widely used plastic polymer. It is mainly used to produce disposable products. Due to its resistance to degradation, PS can remain in the environment for a long time.
