Robot Control near Singularity and Joint Limit Using a Continuous Task Transition Algorithm

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2013
When robots are controlled in the task space, singularities and joint limits are among the most critical and difficult issues that can arise. In this paper, we propose a new approach for the robots to operate in the regions near singularities and joint ...

Robust stability analysis of a novel droop‐based distributed control scheme for islanded operation of DC microgrids

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2022
DC microgrid is a high‐efficiency plan for exploiting and controlling distributed generation (DG) resources that can supply local loads in grid‐connected or islanded mode. Conventionally, the droop control method is utilized to attain proper load sharing

Security-Enhanced Three-Dimensional Image Hiding Based on Layer-Based Phase-Only Hologram Under Structured Light Illumination

open access: yesPhotonics
In this paper, a security-enhanced three-dimensional (3D) image hiding and encryption method is proposed by combining a layer-based phase-only hologram (POH) under structured light illumination with chaotic encryption and digital image watermarking ...

Connectivity Structure and Dynamics of Nonlinear Recurrent Neural Networks

open access: yesPhysical Review X
Studies of the dynamics of nonlinear recurrent neural networks often assume independent and identically distributed couplings, but large-scale connectomics data indicate that biological neural circuits exhibit markedly different connectivity properties ...

A new formula for the structured singular value [PDF]

open access: yes1985 24th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1985
The concept of structured singular value was recently introduced by Doyle as a tool for analysis and synthesis of feedback systems with structured uncertainties. It is a key to the design of control systems under joint robustness and performance specifications and it nicely complements the H? approach to control system design.

Geometry Meets Attention: Interpretable Transformers via SVD Inspiration

open access: yesIEEE Access
Self-attention is a cornerstone of modern deep learning, yet its dense dot-product formulation offers limited interpretability and lacks explicit structural constraints.

Approximate structured singular value computation via Frobenius norms [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Conference on Systems Engineering, 1989
Two algorithms are presented to aid in the approximation of the structured singular value through minimization of the Frobenius norm. The first algorithm allows the uncertain terms to be complex. The second algorithm considers only real variations for real uncertain terms. An example problem is included, and advantages and disadvantages are discussed. >

Structural and sensitivity reanalyses based on singular value decomposition

open access: yesStructural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, 2013
The structural and sensitivity reanalysis of a structure subjected to modifications has a significant practical value. If the structural modifications result in low rank changes in the associated system matrices, the reanalysis of a structure could be completed with a computational load that is less than that of the complete analysis of the structure ...

The H2 and Robust Hinf Regulators Applied to Multivariable Ship Steering [PDF]

open access: yesTransNav, 2009
The main goal of this task was a calculation of the two multivariable regulators for precise steering of a real, floating, training ship. The first one minimized the H2 norm of the closed-loop system. The second one was related to the Hinf norm.
