Subcellular localization of the EGF receptor maturation process
Experimental Cell Research, 1989The glycosylation and the processing of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor are suggested to play a crucial role(s) in the activation of ligand binding activity. To examine whether the receptor acquires EGF binding activity in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) or in the Golgi complex, we carried out parallel kinetic analysis of the EGF binding ...

Subcellular Distributions and Excited‐State Processes of Hypericin in Neurons
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 1999Abstract— The photodynamic drug, hypericin, is studied in fetal rat neurons using fluorescence microscopy. Hypericin has an extremely high affinity for the cell membrane and is found to a smaller extent in the nucleus. Fluorescent excitation of hypericin is shown to cause irreversible damage to the cell membranes of living neurons.

Optical Fourier Processing of Subcellular Structure
Frontiers in Optics 2008/Laser Science XXIV/Plasmonics and Metamaterials/Optical Fabrication and Testing, 2008We demonstrate a microscope for optical Fourier processing with high frequency resolution. Quantitative object maps that encode local morphological parameters with sub-wavelength sensitivity are generated. Applications include analysis of multiple non-spherical scatterers within living cells.

Processing of prepromelittin by subcellular fractions from rat liver
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1978Abstract Prepromelittin, obtained by translation of melittin mRNA in a cell-free system from wheat germ, was incubated with subcellular fractions from rat liver in the presence of deoxycholate. The product formed had the same amino terminal sequence as honeybee promelittin.
