Effect of isoflurane on skin-pressure-induced vasodilation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Since general anesthesia has been shown to attenuate endothelium-dependent vasodilation, it was of interest to verify whether general anesthesia would modify skin vasodilation in response to local pressure application, which is endothelium dependent.

The influence of antioxidant and post-synthetic treatment on the properties of biodegradable poly(butylene succinate)s modified with poly(propylene oxide) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2007
Novel poly(ester-ether)s based on poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) as the hard segments and 30 mass % of poly(propylene oxide) (PPO) as the soft segments were synthesized with varying amount of the antioxidant (N,N'-diphenyl-p-phenylenediamine, DPPD).

Succinylated Octopamine Ascarosides and a New Pathway of Biogenic Amine Metabolism in Caenorhabditis elegans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The ascarosides, small-molecule signals derived from combinatorial assembly of primary metabolism-derived building blocks, play a central role in Caenorhabditis elegans biology and regulate many aspects of development and behavior in this model ...

Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma with therapeutic strategies Abstract Background and Aims Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a highly heterogeneous cancer with limited understanding and few effective therapeutic approaches. We aimed at providing a proteogenomic CCA characterization to inform biological processes and treatment ...

A Facile Route to Diastereomeric Phosphorus Ylides. Chemoselective Synthesis of Dialkyl (E)-2-[1-(2-Oxocyclopentylidene)ethyl]-2-butenedioates

open access: yesMolecules, 2008
2-Acetylcyclopentanone undergoes a smooth reaction with triphenylphosphineand dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates to produce dialkyl 2-(1-acetyl-2-oxocyclopentyl)-3-(1,1,1-triphenyl-λ5-phosphanylidene)succinates.

A green strategy for the synthesis of poly(ethylene succinate) and its copolyesters via enzymatic ring opening polymerization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Poly(ethylene succinate) (PES) with weight-average molecular weight above 60,000 g mol-1 was efficiently obtained by enzymatic ring opening polymerization of cyclic oligo(ethylene succinate)s c(ES)n, which in turn were prepared by lipase-catalysed ...

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.
