Unveiling the Electrolyte and Solid Electrolyte Interphase in Sodium Ion Batteries: Mechanisms, Progress, and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the recent advances in sodium‐ion battery electrolytes (including organic, aqueous, gel, ionic liquid, and solid‐state types) and their influence on the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). It discusses SEI formation, aging, and optimization, as well as cases where no SEI forms, providing insights into the critical relationship ...

Dipolar addition to cyclic vinyl sulfones leading to dual conformation tricycles

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
Dipolar addition of cyclic azomethine imines with cyclic vinyl sulfones gave rise to functionalized tricycles that exhibited fluxional behavior in solution at room temperature.

Intramolecular Desulfitative Coupling: Nickel-Catalyzed Transformation of Diaryl Sulfones into Biaryls via Extrusion of SO2.

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2018
As a new transformation of organosulfur compounds, intramolecular desulfitative coupling of diaryl sulfones to the corresponding biaryls has been developed with the aid of nickel-NHC catalysts.

Revealing the Neglected Role of Passivation Layers of Current Collectors for Solid‐State Anode‐Free Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An in situ X‐ray absorption spectroscopy experiment revealed that the surface passivation layers on copper and stainless steel interact with the sulfide‐based solid‐state electrolyte upon contact, leading to the formation of various interfacial species.

Additive- and Photocatalyst-Free Borylation of Arylazo Sulfones under Visible Light.

open access: yesJournal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
We developed a photocatalyst-free and additive-free, visible light induced borylation reaction using arylazo sulfones as starting material. This protocol shows some advantages such as mild conditions, simple equipment, and wide substrate scope, which ...

New Synthetic Approaches to Alk-1-enyl Sulfones and Sulfoxides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis is devoted to the finding of new synthetic approaches to alk-1-enyl sulfones and sulfoxides. In particular, uncomplexed organoaluminum reagents reacted with aluminium sulfinates to afford alkenyl sulfoxides in good yields (72-75%).

Fast and Reversible Red Emission Modulation in Photoswitchable Molecules Toward Optical Data Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A series of intense red‐emitting BTCPO4 photoswitches is synthesized, and their photophysical properties, such as fluorescence quantum yield, fatigue resistance, and reversible cyclization, are reported. The issue of slow reverse cyclization, which hinders fluorescence modulation (ON‐OFF) of these molecules, is overcome by utilizing energy transfer to ...

Catalyst-Free 1,6-Conjugate Addition/Aromatization/Sulfonylation of para-Quinone Methides: Facile Access to Diarylmethyl Sulfones

open access: yesACS Omega, 2018
An efficient, catalyst-free strategy to construct diarylmethyl sulfones via 1,6-conjugate addition/aromatization/sulfonylation reaction of para-quinone methides with sulfonyl hydrazides under mild and environmentally benign conditions has been developed.

Recent Progress in Strategies to Enhance the Spin‐Orbit Coupling of Multiresonance Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescent Materials for Narrowband Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
For multiresonance thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters, the reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) process is of paramount importance. This review summarizes two approaches to enhance the RISC rate by improving spin‐orbit coupling: the heavy atom strategy and the long‐range charge‐transfer/short‐range charge‐transfer strategy.
