Modification Strategies of Carbon‐Based Electrodes From Structural Regulation to Multifunctional Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Tracing the evolution from structural regulation to multifunctional integration, this paper systematically analyzes modification strategies for carbon‐based electrodes. It evaluates how element doping, surface functionalization, and composite material design affect the electrode performance, and offers perspectives on future applications and challenges

High‐Conductivity Electrolytes Screened Using Fragment‐ and Composition‐Aware Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
We present a new deep learning framework that hierarchically links molecular and functional unit attributions to predict electrolyte conductivity. By integrating molecular composition, ratios, and physicochemical descriptors, it achieves accurate, interpretable predictions and large‐scale virtual screening, offering chemically meaningful insights for ...

The Role of Hydrogen Spillover on Ru/MoO3 in the Hydrodeoxygenation of Phenol as a Lignin Model Compound

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
MoO3 is active for hydrodeoxygenation of phenol at high temperatures. Ru/MoO3 gives high conversions and selectivities at lower temperature. Catalytic performance correlates with both Ru content and the concentration of Mo–OH sites on the surface (formed by hydrogen spillover from Ru) but not with the amount of reduced Mo centers (oxygen vacancies). Mo–

Stereoselective β‐C‐aryl Glycosylation Through Ni‐Catalyzed Reductive Cross‐Coupling

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 3, March 2026.
A robust Ni‐catalyzed reductive cross‐coupling of glycosyl halides and aryl halides was developed out‐of‐the‐glovebox using air‐stable, bench‐ready Ni(COD)DQ as a source of Ni0. The reaction was applied to a broad substrate scope with excellent β‐stereoselectivity, and the obtained results are supported by mechanistic and density functional theory ...

Pesticide Contamination in the Hair of Children From Colonia San Juan, a Rural Community in Paraguay

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 354-369, March 2026.
Hair analysis in children from a rural community in Paraguay reveals exposure to organophosphates, pyrethroids, neonicotinoids, fungicides, herbicides, and endocrine disruptors, highlighting the urgent need for stricter environmental protections and preventive health measures. ABSTRACT Chronic exposure to pesticides can cause carcinogenic, reproductive,

Development of eNA Sampling for Early Detection of Pathogens in On‐Farm Water Sources

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
We compare four water‐sampling methods for detecting microbial and viral eNA in livestock troughs and show all approaches effectively recover community profiles, supporting flexible, field‐ready surveillance of livestock pathogens. ABSTRACT Early detection of livestock pathogens is critical for mitigating risk and implementing timely control or ...

Vinyl sulfones

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2008
Four neutral vinyl sulfones, two of which are paired with phosphonate groups, are described. The compounds are diisopropyl (2-phenylethenylsulfonylmethyl)phosphonate, C(15)H(23)O(5)PS, (I), diisopropyl {[2-(7-methoxy-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)ethenylsulfonyl]methylsulfonylmethyl}phosphonate, C(18)H(27)O(10)PS(2), (II), bis(trans-2-phenylethenyl) sulfone, C ...

Sulfone-linked paracyclophanes

Chemical Communications, 1998
Oxidation of the macrocyclic thioether sulfones (SϕSO2ϕ)n (ϕ = 1,4-phenylene; n = 2 or 3) affords sulfone-linked paracyclophanes (ϕSO2)4 and (ϕSO2)6; single crystal X-ray analysis reveals the tetramer, (ϕSO2)4, to be a near-perfect square box, whilst the hexamer, (ϕSO2)6, adopts a much more irregular conformation; exhaustive oxidation of (SϕSO2ϕ)4 ...
