SEPARATION OF SULFONYLUREA METABOLITES IN WATER BY CAPILLARY ELECTROPHORESIS

open access: yes, 1995
The potential of capillary electrophoresis (CE) for the separation and detection of the metabolites of nine sulfonylurea herbicides in aqueous solution was evaluated.

Immune Consequences of Metabolic Syndrome and Its Treatment: A Cytokine Perspective

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from individuals with metabolic syndrome (MetS) who were not using glucose‐and/or lipid lowering medication (GLLM) exhibited a broader cytokine production profile after in vitro antigen‐specific stimulation than PBMCs from individuals with MetS using such medications and from healthy donors.

Free radical reaction of fluorine containing compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This thesis is concerned with the free-radical addition of oxygen containing compounds of the adducts produced. Free-radical additions of ether compounds to fluoroalkenes have been done by previous workers and the chemistry of some of these adducts has ...

Serum‐derived microribonucleic acids as potential novel biomarkers for slowly progressive type 1 diabetes mellitus

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This study evaluated serum miRNAs as biomarkers in adult patients with SPIDDM. Serum miRNAs were measured at the time of SPIDDM (probable) diagnosis, and miR‐150‐5p was inversely associated with CPI at the last outpatient visit, suggesting its potential utility for predicting subsequent insulin secretory decline.

Using the Scaffold of FDA-Approved Drugs with Trypanocidal Activity to Identify New Anti-Trypanosoma cruzi Agents: An In Silico and In Vitro Approach

open access: yesMolecules
Chagas disease affects millions of people worldwide, including those in Latin America. The only drugs available for its treatment are benznidazole and nifurtimox. However, these drugs present high toxicity and limited efficacy.

Conformational Polymorphism in Sulfonylurea Drugs: Electronic Structure Analysis

open access: yes, 2010
Quantum chemical calculations have been performed using HF, B3LYP, and MP2 methods on the model sulfonylurea PhSO2NHC(═O)NHMe to understand the conformational and tautomeric preferences.

Effects of esaxerenone add‐on therapy versus angiotensin II receptor blocker dose escalation on albuminuria and blood pressure in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes: An exploratory randomized study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims Residual albuminuria remains a major clinical challenge in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension despite renin–angiotensin system inhibitor therapy. Esaxerenone, a selective nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, reduces albuminuria; however, its effects on oxidative stress remain unclear.

Temporal distribution of acute kidney injury–related hospitalizations after initiation of sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors: A nationwide claims database analysis in older adults with an independent complementary single‐center eGFR analysis

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Among 190 older adults who experienced AKI‐related hospitalization after SGLT2 inhibitor initiation, 31.1% were hospitalized within 30 days. In an independent single‐center cohort, sustained early eGFR decline was associated with older age and use of one or two triple‐whammy‐related drug classes.
