EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Plasma-Assisted Regeneration of Activated Carbon: Current Status and Prospects

open access: yesInorganics
Activated carbon (AC) is widely used in pollution control, but it faces significant challenges in regeneration due to secondary pollution and structural degradation. Traditional methods, such as thermal and chemical regeneration, are energy-intensive and

Influence of Tool-Workpiece Interface on Surface Integrity after Turning

open access: yesCommunications, 2014
This paper deals with influence of flank wear on decomposition of cutting force in turning roll bearing steel. The decomposition is carried out to evaluate the components of cutting force in the tool-chip as well as tool-workpiece interface.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Ultrasonic-Vibration-Superimposed Face Turning of Aluminium Matrix Composite Components for Enhancing Friction-Surface Preconditioning

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
Aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) represent an important group of high-performance materials. Due to their specific strength and a high thermal conductivity, these composites have been considered for the large-scale production of brake discs.

Imaging Material Texture of As-Deposited Selective Laser Melted Parts Using Spatially Resolved Acoustic Spectroscopy

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Additive manufacturing (AM) is a production technology where material is accumulated to create a structure, often through added shaped layers. The major advantage of additive manufacturing is in creating unique and complex parts for use in areas where ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
