Development of Orodispersible Tablets with Solid Dispersions of Fenofibrate and Co-Processed Mesoporous Silica for Improved Dissolution

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Poor water solubility is an important challenge in the development of oral patient-friendly solid dosage forms. This study aimed to prepare orodispersible tablets with solid dispersions of a poorly water-soluble drug fenofibrate and a co-processed ...

A mathematical model of metallized solid propellant combustion under the changing pressure

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
This paper presents the mathematical model describing a non-stationary combustion of metallized solid propellant. The model takes into account the heat transfer, the oxidizer decomposition and gasification of the solid propellant, two-phase, dual ...

Effect of Ion-Plasma Nitriding on Phase Composition and Tensile Properties of AISI 321-Type Stainless Steel Produced by Wire-Feed Electron-Beam Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesMetals, 2022
We study the effect of ion-plasma surface nitriding on the phase composition, microstructure, surface microhardness, and tensile properties of the AISI 321-type stainless steel produced by wire-feed electron-beam additive manufacturing (EBAM). Ion-plasma

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Effect of Carrier Lipophilicity and Preparation Method on the Properties of Andrographolide–Solid Dispersion

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
Solid dispersion (SD) is a useful approach to improve the dissolution rate and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. This work investigated the effects of carrier material lipophilicity and preparation method on the properties of andrographolide

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
