Development of ternary solid dispersions with hydrophilic polymer and surface adsorbent for improving dissolution rate of carbamazepine

open access: yesSaudi Pharmaceutical Journal, 2018
In this study solid dispersions of carbamazepine in the hydrophilic Kollidon® VA64 polymer, adsorbed onto Neusilin® UFL2 adsorption carrier have been employed to improve carbamazepine dissolution rate.

Glucosamine HCl-based solid dispersions to enhance the biopharmaceutical properties of acyclovir [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The objective of the work presented here was to assess the feasibility of using glucosamine HCl as a solid-dispersion (SD) carrier to enhance the biopharmaceutical properties of a BCS class III/IV drug, acyclovir (ACV). The solid-dispersions of acyclovir

Surface Solid Dispersion Technique for Solubility Enhancement of Nifedipine

open access: yesCurrent Indian Science
Introduction: Poor solubility is a common challenge in pharmaceuticals, hindering oral bioavailability. High throughput screening has led to an increase in poorly soluble drug candidates. Enhancing solubility and dissolution rates is crucial for drug development.

Studies of intermolecular interactions in solid dispersions using advanced surface chemical analysis [PDF]

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2015
The aim of this study is to utilise an advanced surface chemical analysis based on X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to determine and characterise drug/polymer interactions in solid dispersions manufactured via hot melt extrusion (HME).

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...
