This study reveals that fear learning specifically triggers PICK1/DHHC2‐dependent palmitoylation of PSD‐95 in the lateral amygdala. Fear conditioning induces the dissociation of DHHC5 from PSD‐95 and the association of PSD‐95 with DHHC2. DHHC2‐mediated palmitoylation of PSD‐95 is required for synaptic transmission and underlies fear learning–induced ...

Model illustrating the proposed mechanism by which chemotherapy‐induced downregulation of OGT disrupts SNAP29 O‐GlcNAcylation, promoting STX17‐SNAP29‐VAMP8 SNARE complex assembly and protective autophagy, leading to chemoresistance, which in turn establishes a feedforward loop to perpetuate drug tolerance.

Dopamine is believed to play an important role in the etiology of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In our previous study, we showed that gene expression of dopamine D4 receptor decreased in the spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR) in the prefrontal cortex (PFC).

The 25-kDa Synaptosome-associated Protein (SNAP-25) Binds and Inhibits Delayed Rectifier Potassium Channels in Secretory Cells [PDF]
Delayed-rectifier K(+) channels (K(DR)) are important regulators of membrane excitability in neurons and neuroendocrine cells. Opening of these voltage-dependent K(+) channels results in membrane repolarization, leading to the closure of the Ca(2+) channels and cessation of insulin secretion in neuroendocrine islet beta cells.

Abstract Background Hyperkinetic movement disorders, including dystonia, tremor, and myoclonus, are disabling conditions often managed with botulinum toxin type A (BoNT‐A). Real‐world evidence on treatment patterns remains limited. Objective This nationwide, population‐based study aimed to evaluate trends in BoNT‐A use in France between 2015 and 2023 ...

Chronic silencing of subsets of layer 5 projection neurons has distinct effects on the laminar distribution of PV interneurons and the perineuronal nets in the adult primary motor and somatosensory cortex. Abstract Neural networks are established throughout cortical development, which require the right ratios of glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons ...

Postnatal developmental changes in the laryngeal chemosensory cell clusters of rats
Chemosensory cell clusters appeared in the rat larynx 2 days after birth and were already connected to afferent nerve fibers. Their number increased until 3 weeks of age, then stabilized while continuing to grow through the addition of new cells. Because their number reached a plateau around the time of weaning, their development may be linked to ...

Identification of fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) as a protein receptor for botulinum neurotoxin serotype A (BoNT/A). [PDF]
Botulinum neurotoxin serotype A (BoNT/A) causes transient muscle paralysis by entering motor nerve terminals (MNTs) where it cleaves the SNARE protein Synaptosomal-associated protein 25 (SNAP25206) to yield SNAP25197.
