Satisfiability and Synthesis Modulo Oracles [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In classic program synthesis algorithms, such as counterexample-guided inductive synthesis (CEGIS), the algorithms alternate between a synthesis phase and an oracle (verification) phase. Many synthesis algorithms use a white-box oracle based on satisfiability modulo theory (SMT) solvers to provide counterexamples.

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Improved method for the obtaining DTTA-appended 2,2’-bipyridine ligands for lanthanide cations

open access: yesChimica Techno Acta, 2022
The composition of the reaction mixture after DTTA tert-butyl ester alkylation with 6'-halomethyl-5-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridines was studied. In addition to the target product, DTTA-appended 2,2’-bipyridine, the corresponding 6'-hydroxymethyl-substituted 2,2’-

Mining Insights on Metal-Organic Framework Synthesis from Scientific Literature Texts [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Identifying optimal synthesis conditions for metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is a major challenge that can serve as a bottleneck for new materials discovery and development. Trial-and-error approach that relies on a chemist's intuition and knowledge has limitations in efficiency due to the large MOF synthesis space.

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...
