Coloring of synthetic fluorite
Physica Status Solidi (a), 1980A synthetic fluorite of the Harshaw Chemical Company is analyzed for rare earth elements, yttrium, and sodium. Samples of this fluorite are irradiated with X-rays, γ-rays, neutrons, electrons, protons, and α-particles at different energies, and their absorption spectra are analyzed.

Ultraresolution of microwave, color, and synthetic color images
SPIE Proceedings, 2004The modern digital image forming systems are multi sensors or multi rays as a rule. The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) MO of a Point Spread Function (PSF) O can be measured with the aid of special transparent image. PSF O of passive radio vision system can be measured for a point source.

Color constancy measurements for synthetic image generation
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 1999Solving the color constancy problem in many applica- tions implies the understanding of chromatic adaptation. The Ret- inex theory justifies chromatic adaptation, as well as other color il- lusions, on visual perception principles. Based on the above theory, we have derived an algorithm to solve the color constancy problem and to simulate chromatic ...

INTERACT '93 and CHI '93 conference companion on Human factors in computing systems - CHI '93, 1993
An interface is described that uses color and spatial relations to provide an intuitive interface for sound manipulation. A simple geometric shape, called the Geometric Sound Mixer (GSM), is used to mix sounds. Timbre is represented as color within the GSM; the relative loudness of these sound sources is represented visually by the color mixture.

Postfiltering for color appearance in synthetic image visualization
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2004In the photorealistic image synthesis process, an accurate approximation of the spectral light radiance field of a synthetic scene is carefully reproduced, with the goal of generating a synthetic image that is indistinguishable from the actual one. The paradigm of photorealism requires a comparison of the real scene and its synthetic reproduction, and ...

Health safety issues of synthetic food colorants
Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2015Increasing attention has been recently paid to the toxicity of additives used in food. The European Parliament and the Council published the REGULATION (EC) No. 1333/2008 on food additives establishing that the toxicity of food additives evaluated before 20th January 2009 must be re-evaluated by European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
