The effect of some color centers on the coloration of natural and synthetic diamonds

Journal of Superhard Materials, 2008
Mechanisms of the formation of diamond coloration caused by the light absorption by basic impurity defects, which are optically active in the visible region, have been studied. The analytical relationships between the relative concentration of each defect and the diamond main color tone and saturation have been derived.

The Coloration of Synthetic Polymeric Materials

Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, 1969
Two very interesting and successful innovations were the running of simultaneous sessions on the Thursday morning—one on dyeing theory and the other on dyeing practice—and the introduction of a panel discussion on the Friday afternoon.

The photodegradation of synthetic colorants

1996
The action of light on dyes, whether in solution or on textile materials, involves a complex series of processes. Although it is over 100 years since Bancroft1 reported that the light-induced fading of dyes proceeds by oxidation at times and by reduction at other times, the photodegradation of synthetic dyes continues to be a commercially important ...

Synthetic coloring of fractal terrains and triangular automata

The Visual Computer, 1995
Simple coloring schemes for fractal terrains can easily be generated. They include false coloring schemes that give information about the landscape and realistic coloring schemes. Triangular automata are introduced and used to simulated rock texture and vegetation.

Synthetic Diamond for Color Center Lasers

Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1986
Color centers which are substitutional in character, like many of the nitrogen-related defects in diamond, are well suited to the achievement of tunable laser action at room temperature. In particular, high densities of H3 centers permit efficient, stable generation of coherent visible radiation /1/ in the spectral range 500–600 nm.
