On synthetic benchmark generation methods
2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century. Proceedings (IEEE Cat No.00CH36353), 2002In the process of designing complex chips and systems, the use of benchmark designs is often necessary. However, the existing benchmark suites are not sufficient for the evaluation of new architectures and EDA tools; synthetic benchmark circuits are a viable alternative.

Methods for preparing synthetic freshwaters
Water Research, 2002Synthetic solutions that emulate the major ion compositions of natural waters are useful in experiments aimed at understanding biogeochemical processes. Standard recipes exist for preparing synthetic analogues of seawater, with its relatively constant composition, but, due to the diversity of freshwaters, a range of compositions and recipes is required.

Pyrolysis of Sulfones as a Synthetic Method [New synthetic methods (28)]
Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1979AbstractCyclic sulfoness containing structural elements such as aromtic rings, heteroatoms. functional groups, and further SO2‐groups as ring members decompose on heating with cleavage of SO2 and formation of a new CC bond. In the last decade this “sulfone pyrolysis” has been expanded into a generally applicable method even allowing the synthesis of ...

Interfacing Synthetic Cells with Biological Cells: An Application of the Synthetic Method
The 2018 Conference on Artificial Life, 2018The “synthetic method” is the methodological approach that guides current scientific attempts of understanding natural processes by the construction of hardware, software, and/or wetware models fro...

Computational methods in synthetic biology
Biotechnology Journal, 2009AbstractWe discuss how a theoretical synthetic biology research programme may liberate empiricism in biological sciences beyond the unaided human brain. Because synthetic biological systems are relatively small and largely independent of evolutionary contexts, they can be represented with mathematical models strongly founded on first principles of ...

This paper aims to highlight the utility of the synthetic approach in solving geometry problems thanks to the contribution of new digital technologies. The synthetic approach, as is known, addresses geometry problems without recourse to analytical methods; especially for architects, the synthetic approach relies on drawing and models, 2D graphics ...
