Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Computational Inference Methods for HIV-1 Selective Sweeps Shaped by Early Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Response [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
In this work we develop a stochastic model of acute HIV infection, based on the well-known standard model, that allows us to simulate the complex mutation pathways of HIV escape from multiple CTL responses. Under this model, we describe two computational inference methods. In one, we use a Bayesian approach to construct posteriors for the parameters of

Projective sets, intuitionistically [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study `definable' subsets of Baire space $\mathcal{N}$. The logic of our arguments is intuitionistic and we use L.E.J.~Brouwer's Thesis on bars in $\mathcal{N}$ and his continuity axioms. We avoid the operation of taking the complement of a subset of $\mathcal{N}$.

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.

Strange Attractor in Immunology of Tumor Growth [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1997
The time delayed cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response on the tumor growth has been developed on the basis of discrete approximation (2-dimensional map). The growth kinetic has been described by logistic law with growth rate being the bifurcation parameter.

Functional analysis of T lymphocyte subsets in antiviral host defense.

open access: yesJournal of Immunology, 1987
The role of different T cell subsets in antiviral host defense was investigated by treating thymectomized C57BL/6 and CBA/J mice with monoclonal rat anti-Lyt-2 or anti-L3/T4 IgG 2b antibodies 14 and 10 days before infection.

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.

T cell receptor repertoires of mice and humans are clustered in similarity networks around conserved public CDR3 sequences

open access: yeseLife, 2017
Diversity of T cell receptor (TCR) repertoires, generated by somatic DNA rearrangements, is central to immune system function. However, the level of sequence similarity of TCR repertoires within and between species has not been characterized.

Leucocyte Subsets Effectively Predict the Clinical Outcome of Patients With COVID-19 Pneumonia: A Retrospective Case-Control Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2020
Background: The clinical characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been well-studied, while effective predictors for clinical outcome and research on underlying mechanisms are scarce. Methods: Hospitalized COVID-19 pneumonia patients ...

Establishing Reference Values for Peripheral Blood Lymphocyte Subsets of Healthy Children in China Using a Single Platform

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, 2022
Lymphocyte subsets significantly change during childhood; thus, age-matched reference values derived from healthy children are crucial. We established reference values for lymphocyte subsets, including T cells (CD3+), CD4 T cells (CD3 + CD4+), CD8 T ...
