Decoding the dual role of autophagy in cancer through transcriptional and epigenetic regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transcriptional and epigenetic regulation controls autophagy, which exerts context‐dependent effects on cancer: Autophagy suppresses tumorigenesis by maintaining cellular homeostasis or promotes tumor progression by supporting survival under stress. In this “In a Nutshell” article, we explore the intricate mechanisms of the dual function of autophagy ...

Specific antitumor activity of anti-CA125 CAR-T lymphocytes against CA125-positive and CA125-negative cells

open access: yesСеченовский вестник
Aim. To evaluate the antitumor efficacy of our developed drug based on cytotoxic T lymphocytes genetically modified with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific to the CA125 antigen in relation to both CA125-positive and CA125negative cell cultures ...

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.

Induction and Exhaustion of Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus–specific Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes Visualized Using Soluble Tetrameric Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I–Peptide Complexes

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1998
This study describes the construction of soluble major histocompatibility complexes consisting of the mouse class I molecule, H-2Db, chemically biotinylated β2 microglobulin and a peptide epitope derived from the glycoprotein (GP; amino acids 33–41) of ...

Lymphocyte Cytotoxicity in Alcoholic Hepatitis

open access: yesGastroenterology, 1977
Studies were undertaken to evaluate the cytotoxicity of peripheral lymphocytes obtained from patients with alcoholic hepatitis. Lymphocyte cytotoxicity to Chang liver cells was investigated by a microcytotoxicity test, and that to autologous liver cells obtained by percutaneous liver biopsy was studied using a 51Cr release assay.

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Free Radical Scavenging and Cytotoxic Activities of Substituted Pyrimidines [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
A library of substituted pyrimidines was synthesized and evaluated for free radical scavenging, and in vitro cytotoxic activity in 3T3 cells. All compounds showed good free radical scavenging activity with IC50 values in the range of 42.9 + 0.31 to 438.3 3.3 {\mu}M as compared to the standard butylated hydroxytoluene having IC50 value of 128.83 2.
