PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Foxp3+ T-lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of mycosis fungoides

open access: yesVestnik Dermatologii i Venerologii, 2017
The pathogenesis of mycosis fungoides (MF) is not fully understood, nevertheless it is believed that the microenvironment of the tumor cells could influence the development of malignant lymphocytes. T-regulatory cells are a specialized subpopulation of T-

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Regulatory T cells in children with recently diagnosed type 1 diabetes

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2012
Background: Regulatory T cells have an important role in the control of immune reactivity against self antigens and probably play a role in pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Regulatory T lymphocytes/Th17 lymphocytes imbalance in autism spectrum disorders: evidence from a meta-analysis

open access: yesMolecular Autism, 2021
Background Immune system dysfunction has been proposed to play a critical role in the pathophysiology of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Conflicting reports of lymphocyte subpopulation abnormalities have been described in numerous studies of patients ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Investigating age-related dynamics and transcriptional signatures of CD8+HLA-DR+ regulatory T lymphocytes: perspectives in understanding immune system aging

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
The ability of the CD8+HLA-DR+ regulatory T lymphocytes population to regulate the immune response was first described several years ago. It is known that the suppressive effects of these cells depend on intercellular interactions and are mediated by the

ESTRIOL IN FUNCTIONAL MODULATION OF REGULATORY LYMPHOCYTES IN MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
We studied effects of estriol (E3), at the doses corresponding to the I and III trimesters of pregnancy, upon expression of functional markers on T-regulatory (Treg) and Th17-producing (Th17) lymphocytes, aswell as the production of relevant cytokines by ...

T Cell Lineage Commitment: Identity and Renunciation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Precursors undertaking T cell development shed their access to other pathways in a sequential process that begins before entry into the thymus and continues through many cell cycles afterward.
