Molecular Characterisation of Orf Virus in Goats From Eastern Türkiye

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
This study provides the molecular characterisation of Orf virus (ORFV) strains circulating in Türkiye. Phylogenetic analysis of F1L, B2L, and VIR genes reveals high genetic similarity with Asian and global isolates, highlighting the importance of multi‐gene analysis in monitoring viral outbreaks and understanding disease origins.

Assessing the Underwater Impact of Aerodynamic Noise From Offshore Wind Turbines

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The growing demand for offshore wind energy has led to a significant increase in wind turbine size and to the development of large‐scale wind farms, often comprising 100–150 turbines. However, the environmental impact of underwater noise emissions remains largely unaddressed.

Multipoint Aerostructural Optimization of Wind Turbine Rotors Using a Coupled Blade‐Resolved Aerostructural Solver

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Physics‐based design optimization workflows thread the needle between computational cost limitations and simulation complexity, often compromising between modeling detail and the range of operating design conditions. Multipoint aerostructural optimization of wind turbine rotors has so far been confined to low‐fidelity analyses or to high ...

In situ aerial bioacoustic monitoring from extremely noisy drone recordings

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 7, Page 2061-2072, July 2026.
Abstract Aerial bioacoustic monitoring has the potential to transform biodiversity surveys by enabling rapid acoustic sampling across large and inaccessible habitats. However, its application from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has remained limited because strong rotor self‐noise overwhelms target sounds such as bird vocalisations, compromising the ...

Interplay of the ENS and Microbiota With Murine Gut Epithelium‐Derived Organoids in Aging

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
A gut organoid model was developed to study the impact of age‐related changes of the enteric nervous system (ENS) and microbiome on the integrity and trophic capacity of the intestinal epithelial barrier. Organoids reflected in vivo aging features, including altered epithelial integrity and changes in acetylcholine‐related enzyme activity.

Welfare and Physiological Consequences of Non‐Lethal Blood Sampling From the Caudal Vasculature of Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar L.)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate welfare and health effects following single and repeated non‐lethal blood sampling from the caudal vasculature of Atlantic salmon. Two experiments were conducted at three different temperatures: a 6‐week freshwater experiment with fish weighing 50–100 g, undergoing up to four blood withdrawals, and a
