Organelle Sorting and Proteomic Analysis to Identify Proteins Involved in the Uptake and Intracellular Trafficking of Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 3, 9 February 2026.
A new method to identify proteins involved in the uptake and intracellular trafficking of nanoparticles is presented. After nanoparticle uptake, cells are lysed and the organelles with nanoparticles are purified using fluorescence assisted cell sorting. Next, their composition is determined by proteomic analysis.

A Chebyshev Polynomial‐Based Wind Speed Profile Characterization Framework: Applications in Mesoscale Model Evaluation

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents a polynomial‐based wind speed profile characterization framework that approximates full vertical profiles using five physically meaningful Chebyshev polynomial coefficients. The framework captures key morphological features of wind profiles, including mean wind speed, vertical shear, curvature, inflection‐related behavior ...

Failure Criterion‐Based Bead Optimization of a Wind Turbine Blade Root Section

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents a bead‐based optimization framework for fiber composite wind turbine blades, employing the Tsai–Wu failure criterion as the structural performance measure. The objective is to design an optimal transition geometry between an existing blade and a root section with 20% smaller diameter, while preserving the original material ...

Understanding Atrial Fibrillation Complexity Through the Lens of Turbulence Dynamics: Implications for Treatment Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 400-412, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia encountered in clinical practice. Its incidence increases significantly with age and has become a major global public health issue. Although research into the mechanisms of AF has spanned over a century‐ranging from the reentry theory to the rotor hypothesis‐none of these

N‐Truncated Superoxide Dismutase‐1 in Cerebrospinal Fluid Is Folded and Active

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 2, February 2026.
Superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) mutations cause amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) through mechanisms involving protein misfolding and aggregation. While C‐terminal truncations of SOD1 promote neurotoxicity, our study reveals that approximately one‐third of SOD1 in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is N‐terminally truncated—a striking observation given the ...
