Ionic Gating of Liquid‐Crystal‐Like Pteridine Assemblies Enables Tunable Light Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Tunable optical properties emerge through developmentally regulated ionic gating, which transforms disordered, ultraviolet (UV)‐absorbing organelles into concentrically ordered, liquid‐crystal‐like light scatterers. By integrating analyses of pteridine composition, potassium‐dependent assembly, hierarchical ultrastructure, and optical behavior, the ...

A modified tail suspension test for the assessment of behavioral despair in mice after stroke

open access: yesActa Pharmacologica Sinica
Stroke survivors usually suffer from mood and emotional disturbances, especially depression. However, research on poststroke depression (PSD) is limited by the measurement of behavioral despair in animals. The tail suspension test (TST) is a classic method for assessing behavioral despair in mice based on an increased immobility time.

Tamper‐Responsive Physical Unclonable Functions via Graphene‐Interlayered Block Copolymer Random Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐invalidating multilayer physical unclonable functions (PUFs) integrate fingerprint‐like metal nanopattern bilayers from block copolymer templates with highly reactive reduced graphene oxide (rGO) interlayers. This tamper‐responsive architecture blocks all unauthorized physical and chemical replication attempts while autonomously deactivating ...

Bacteria‐Trained, MnO2‐Armored Dendritic Cells for Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
MnO2‐armored, bacteria‐trained dendritic cells undergo tumor‐responsive mechanical and immunological transformation. The nanocoating masks immune ligands and maintains a mechanically stiff, quiescent state during circulation, while the tumor microenvironment removes the armor and restores cellular deformability and immune accessibility.

From Dark Photocatalysis to Photobattery‐Type Operation: A Re‐Functionalized Ti‐MOF for Solar Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ReCl47‐bpy is developed as a solar‐rechargeable, Re‐functionalized two‐dimensional metal–organic framework (MOF) for light‐driven charge storage and dark utilization. Re–bipyridine sites stabilize photoinduced electrons, enabling two complementary configurations: a MOF suspension for long‐lived charge retention and dark H2 evolution, and a spin‐coated ...

A galantamine–curcumin hybrid lacks the depressant side effect of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment
Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) are drugs that enhance cholinergic neuro-transmission and are used for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and myasthenia gravis.

GaSex Nanoparticles Modulate Neutrophil Function and Mitigate NET‐Driven Osteogenic Impairment in Osteomyelitis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) emerge as a critical repair‐limiting factor in osteomyelitis, driving osteoblast mitochondrial dysfunction and excessive PINK1/Parkin‐mediated mitophagy. Gallium–selenium nanoparticles (GaSex) scavenge reactive oxygen species, redirect neutrophils from NETosis toward bactericidal phagocytosis, eliminate methicillin‐

Near‐Infrared Imaging of H2O2 in Plants With Nanosensors Under Environmentally Changing Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This paper reports a ratiometric nanosensor enabling robust, multivariate detection of stress signals (H2O2) in plants, with high resistance to light fluctuations and mechanical disturbances. Single‐walled carbon nanotubes serve as the sensor, Egyptian Blue nanosheets serve as a stable reference, and plant autofluorescence serves as a label‐free ...

A Retinal Matrix Stiffening Model Reveals FAK‐Dependent Mechanotransduction in Pericytes Underlies Vascular Destabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we show that retinal matrix stiffness is increased in diabetic mice. Using engineered human vascular models with controlled matrix stiffness, we demonstrate that stiffening activates focal adhesion kinase (FAK) signaling in pericytes, suppresses Notch signaling, and disrupts vascular morphology.

Tail-invariant measures for some suspension semiflows

open access: yes
We consider suspension semiflows over abelian extensions of one-sided mixing subshifts of finite type. Although these are not uniquely ergodic, we identify (in the "ergodic" case) all tail-invariant, locally finite measures which are quasi-invariant for ...
