Tamoxifen for the prevention of breast cancer results of Italian randomized tamoxifen prevention trial among women with hysterectomy

open access: yes, 2007
Background Initial findings of the Italian Randomized Tamoxifen Prevention Trial found no reduction in risk of breast cancer with tamoxifen use, whereas the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project Breast Cancer Prevention Trial showed that ...

Risk of Retinopathy Associated with Long‐Term Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Patients with Rheumatic Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to estimate the prevalence and cumulative incidence of hydroxychloroquine retinopathy (HCQ‐R) and its risk factors among patients receiving long‐term HCQ with rheumatic diseases through a systematic review and meta‐analysis of observational studies that used spectral‐domain optical coherence tomography (SD‐OCT) for screening ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Inhibition of long non-coding RNA ROR reverses resistance to Tamoxifen by inducing autophagy in breast cancer

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
This study explored the mechanism underlying long non-coding RNA ROR regulating autophagy on Tamoxifen resistance in breast cancer. Cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were collected from 74 breast cancer patients.

Tamoxifen reduces silicone implant capsule formation in a mouse model

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, 2022
Capsular contracture as a result of the foreign body response (FBR) is a common issue after implant‐based breast reconstruction, affecting up to 20% of patients. New evidence suggests that tamoxifen may mitigate the FBR.

Tamoxifen-inducible Cre-mediated Rpa1 deletion strategy during male meiosis.

open access: yes, 2019
(A) Schematic diagram of various Rpa1 alleles: Rpa1tm1a, Rpa1fl (floxed allele), and Rpa1 knockout. Cre-mediated deletion of exon 8 (encoding residues 182–226) is expected to cause a frameshift in the resulting mutant transcript.

GPR124 Alleviates Blood–Brain Barrier Disruption by Enhancing Microvascular Endothelial Function after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell‐Mediated Intercellular Communication: Mapping the Interactome for Skeletal Muscle Homeostasis and Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liu et al. define a systems‐level interactome of fibroadipogenic progenitor (FAP)‐mediated signaling in skeletal muscle by integrating single‐cell transcriptomics with FAP depletion‐based perturbation analysis. Functional interrogation using a conditioned media bioassay links predicted signaling to multicellular outcomes, establishing a framework to ...
