Spatiotemporal Drug Delivery via a Neonatal Spinal Cord ECM Hydrogel for Biomimetic Microenvironment Remodeling After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A biomimetic hydrogel derived from neonatal spinal cord ECM (DNSCM) delivers LAMB2 protein and ISP peptide to remodel the inhibitory injury microenvironment. The system sustains drug release, upregulates pro‐regenerative LAMB2, downregulates inhibitory CSPG, and promotes axonal regeneration.

Quantification of mixed chimerism allows early therapeutic interventions

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia, 2014
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the curative option for patients with myelodysplastic syndrome; however, it requires a long post-transplantation follow-up.

Sequences flanking the repeat arrays of human minlsatellites: association with tandem and dispersed repeat elements

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1989
We present DNA sequences flanking cloned hypervariable human minisatellites. In addition to providing confirmatory evidence that minisatellites cluster with other tandem repeats, these flanking sequences contain a high frequency of interspersed repetitive elements.

Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

Genome-Wide Tool for Sensitive de novo Identification and Visualisation of Interspersed and Tandem Repeats

open access: yesBioinformatics and Biology Insights
Genomic repeats are functionally ubiquitous structural units found in all genomes. Studying these repeats of different origins is essential for understanding the evolution and adaptation of a given organism.

Rational design of alpha-helical tandem repeat proteins with closed architectures

open access: yesNature, 2015
Tandem repeat proteins, which are formed by repetition of modular units of protein sequence and structure, play important biological roles as macromolecular binding and scaffolding domains, enzymes, and building blocks for the assembly of fibrous ...

APE-type non-LTR retrotransposons of multicellular organisms encode virus-like 2A oligopeptide sequences, which mediate translational recoding during protein synthesis

open access: yes, 2013
2A oligopeptide sequences (“2As”) mediate a cotranslational recoding event termed “ribosome skipping.” Previously we demonstrated the activity of 2As (and “2A-like sequences”) within a wide range of animal RNA virus genomes and non-long terminal repeat ...

Condensin Promotes Position Effects within Tandem DNA Repeats via the RITS Complex

open access: yesCell Reports, 2016
Summary: Tandem repetitive DNA is highly abundant in eukaryotic genomes and contributes to transcription control and genome stability. However, how the individual sequences within tandem repeats behave remains largely unknown.
