Seasonality Affects the Phenolic Composition and Erythroprotective Activity of Ora‐Pro‐Nobis (Pereskia aculeata) Leaves

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Ora‐pro‐nobis (OPN) is a food plant with polyphenol‐rich leaves. However, the influence of seasonality on their quantitative phenolic composition and how it impacts their bioactivities is unknown. OPN leaves were harvested throughout 12 months, and their individual phenolic content, antioxidant activity, and erythroprotection were assessed ...

The effects of Selenium phytotoxicity on two wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivars differing in Se tolerance and the role of antioxidant enzymes in the tolerance mechanism

open access: yesThe EuroBiotech Journal
Wheat seedlings were hydroponically grown in Hoagland solution containing various levels of Se. Tolerance response to Se toxicity was investigated by determining the level of thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS), proline and chlorophyll content,

Biochemical Responses of Anopheles spp. Larvae to a Novel Brazilian BR101 Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis Formulation: Oxidative Stress, Detoxification Enzymes, and Safety for Nontarget Notonectidae and Gerridae Aquatic Insects

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
Bti BR101 exhibits strong larvicidal activity against Anopheles larvae spp., with dose‐dependent mortality and LC50 of 3.13 µg/mL. Bti increases ROS, lipid and protein oxidation, and activates antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPx) and detoxification pathways (MFO and esterases), indicating moderate oxidative stress.
