Postweaning male Wistar rats were fed a high‐sugar/high‐fat (HSHF) diet for 14 days, with or without a 48‐h withdrawal period followed by return to the control diet. Continued HSHF intake increased visceral adiposity, hepatic glycogen, and triacylglycerol accumulation, as well as systemic and central inflammatory markers.
