Comparison of Distillation and Extraction Methods in TBARS Determanation of Cured Meat
Thiobarbituric acid reactive subsrances,TBARS,has been well determined as an index of lipid oxidation in food.Addition of nitrite as a color developnent agent to cured meat results in a low TBRS value.Therfore,we examined whether nitrite suppresses lipid

Liver TBARS and gene expression related to oxidative stress and glucose metabolism.
TBARS (A), expression of Nrf-2 (B) and p53 target genes (C) in livers from mice fed diets containing intact (I) or hydrolyzed (H) casein, at 16% energy or 32% energy from protein (n = 6–8). * Significant effect of hydrolysis, p < 0.05.

Global Fluoride Toxicology Landscape: Bibliometric Approaches and Scientific Mapping
ABSTRACT This study analyzed research trends in the 100 most‐cited articles on fluoride toxicology, a topic widely debated due to the toxic effects associated with levels deemed safe for human exposure. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using the Web of Science‐Core Collection, extracting data such as citation count, authors, keywords, journal ...

Co‐exposure to arsenic and cadmium alters metal accumulation and oxidative stress in goldfish. Selenium reduces arsenic bioaccumulation and lipid peroxidation while enhancing antioxidant defences. Findings highlight metal‐specific interactions, with selenium offering partial protection, emphasizing ecological risks and the importance of monitoring ...

Inhibitory effect of tannic acid and its derivative (gallic acid) against cisplatin–induced thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) production in rat kidney – in vitro [PDF]
Increasing amounts of evidence suggests tannic acid (TA) and its derivative, gallic acid (GA) has beneficial effects against nephrotoxicity. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of TA and GA (two structurally related phenolic acids ...

Hypericum perforatum ethanolic extract (HPEE) at the levels of 0, 150, 300 and 450 mg/kg were used and dietary treatments did not affect growth performance including feed intake, body weight and feed conversion ratio. The HPPE reduced the abdominal fat and improved meat quality in broilers.

Raised platelet thiobarbituric acid-reacting substances in proliferative Eales′ disease.
BACKGROUND: Platelets are an elective site for oxidative stress owing to their high content of polyunsaturated fatty acid. Increased lipid peroxidation and elevated platelet thiobarbituric acid-reacting substances (TBARS) signal oxidative stress.

Time‐ and cultivar‐dependent biochemical responses to heat priming and stress in rice
Global warming increasingly threatens rice productivity, and understanding the biochemical mechanisms underlying heat stress responses is crucial for developing resilient cultivars. By demonstrating that stress responses are both cultivar‐ and time‐of‐day‐dependent, our findings offer new insights into the temporal and genetic regulation of acquired ...

Abstract This study investigated the combined effects of alcohol and sugar, termed sweetened alcohol consumption (SAC), and tannic acid (TA) intervention on hepatic health in adolescent rats. Sixty‐four male and female 42‐day‐old Sprague–Dawley rats were assigned to control, TA (50 mg/kg), SAC (10% ethanol +20% fructose), or SAC+TA groups and treated ...
