The thermostable direct haemolysin (TDH) is considered to be the major virulence factors of Vibrio parahaemolyticus; however, poor information is available about its mechanism of action. In our study we examined the capacity of two V. parahaemolyticus TDH-producers (strains 2067 and 3305) to induce fluid secretion in rat ileal loop and to reveal the ...

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1977
There has been a recent expression of concern that the metal shells of most audiometric earphones could consitute a safety hazard because they can conduct electricity and are often used near electrical-power supplies. In response to this potential safety hazard, Telephonics has constructed new TDH-49, and TDH-50 earphones with nonconducting outer ...

A free-field equalizer for TDH 39 earphones
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1983The free-field response of TDH 39 earphones, mounted in MX 41/AR cushions, is determined by loudness comparisons in an anechoic chamber. Based on these data, a passive equalizing network with two resonances at 720 and 6000 Hz is developed and realized. When used with this free-field equalizer, the earphone TDH 39 produces a free-field equivalent level ...

NBS-9A coupler-to-eardrum transformation: TDH-39 and TDH-49 earphones
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1986A transformation was derived to convert sound-pressure levels referenced to an NBS-9A coupler to corresponding eardrum sound-pressure levels. It was found that the same transformation may be used for male and female adults and for both TDH-39 and TDH-49 earphones in MX-41/AR supra-aural cushions.

A total of 18 strains of V. parahaemolyticus isolated from patients of past food poisoning cases occurring in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, were assayed for presence of the thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH) gene and the TDH-related hemolysin (TRH) genes (trh 1 and trh 2) with specific reference to their ability to hydrolyze urea and TDH production.

Comparison of DT 48, TDH 49, and TDH 39 earphones
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1979The frequency responses of the earphones TDH 49, TDH 39, and DT 48 (the latter with and without free-field equalizer) were compared by means of measuring hearing threshold curves. While the TDH 39 and TDH 49 give almost identical results (average deviations 2 dB), the TDH 49 and DT 48 show moderate (5 dB) differences. In the most usual application mode,
