What Is the Significance of a Significant TDT?
Human Heredity, 2005This note summarizes the development of the transmission/disequilibrium test (TDT). The initial purpose of the TDT procedure was to test for linkage between a genetic marker and a disease susceptibility locus when an association had been found between the two. An association between disease and marker had sometimes been taken to imply linkage.

Sequential genotyping within TDT families
Mathematical Medicine and Biology, 2004We demonstrate that, given a limited amount of genotyping resources, the power of a TDT study can be increased substantially by genotyping within families sequentially. By sequential genotyping we mean that one parent in a family should be typed and then the decision on whether to continue genotyping the family is based on this parent's genotype. If it

A critical examination of TDT's cost function
Proceedings of the 25th annual international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval - SIGIR '02, 2002Topic Detection and Tracking (TDT) tasks are evaluated using a cost function. The standard TDT cost function assumes a constant probability of relevance P(rel) across all topics. In practice, P(rel) varies widely across topics. We argue using both theoretical and experimental evidence that the cost function should be modified to account for the varying

TdT-Positive and TdT-Negative Human Leukemic Cells: Specific Density and Morphology
1982Peripheral blood cells from 9 E- and 6 D+ SIg- ALL patients and from 11 CML patients in TdT+ blastic crisis were subjected to discontinuous albumin gradient separation according to Dicke's method, and TdT assayed in the six fractions recovered therefrom.

On extending the transmission/disequilibrium test (TDT)
Annals of Human Genetics, 1997The transmission/disequilibrium test (TDT), for evaluation of the null hypothesis of neither linkage nor association between a marker locus and disease, is extended to the more general situation of transmission of two multi-allele marker loci from parents to affected offspring.

Truth-Default Theory (TDT) is a new theory of deception and deception detection. This article offers an initial sketch of, and brief introduction to, TDT. The theory seeks to provide an elegant explanation of previous findings as well as point to new directions for future research.

Comparing Effectiveness in TDT and IR
2000Abstract : Many of the research tasks in Topic Detection and Tracking have counterparts in Information Retrieval research. However, the two research communities evaluate their tasks differently, which makes it very difficult to determine the extent to which they can help each other.
