Teacher Leadership Knowledge to Pre-Service Teachers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Academic Research in Business and Social Sciences, 2016
Qualified teachers will produced students who are brilliant and have a respectable personality. However, now the issue of problematic teachers often become a topic and viral on social media. Incompetent teachers and undergone discipline problems will relate to student discipline problems, so as a pre-service teacher they have to face the challenges to ...

The Future of Research in Cognitive Robotics: Foundation Models or Developmental Cognitive Models?

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Research in cognitive robotics founded on principles of developmental psychology and enactive cognitive science would yield what we seek in autonomous robots: the ability to perceive its environment, learn from experience, anticipate the outcome of events, act to pursue goals, and adapt to changing circumstances without resorting to training with ...

Progressive Label Distillation: Learning Input-Efficient Deep Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Much of the focus in the area of knowledge distillation has been on distilling knowledge from a larger teacher network to a smaller student network. However, there has been little research on how the concept of distillation can be leveraged to distill ...

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Bridging the gap between theory and practice : what impact do the national curriculum exemplars and the associated matrix have on teaching and learning in science? : a thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Education at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Formative assessment continues to be influential in shaping teaching and learning. A National Assessment Tool, the Exemplars and associated Matrix have been designed and provided for teachers to support formative assessment practice.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Echinoderm‐Inspired Autonomy for Soft‐Legged Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Inspired by echinoderms, a modular soft robot achieves autonomous phototaxis without a central controller or explicit communication. Each limb independently adapts its actuation timing through local sensing and short‐term memory. Coordination emerges purely from physical interactions, demonstrating resilience to changes in morphology, environment, and ...

Authority and Esteem Effects of Enhancing Remote Indigenous Teacher-Assistants' Mathematics-Education Knowledge and Skills [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The interaction between Australia's Eurocentric education and the complex culture of remote Indigenous communities often results in Indigenous disempowerment and educational underperformance. This paper reports on a mathematics-education research project
