Observer based terminal sliding mode control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2013
Abstract A new observer based terminal sliding mode control (TSMC) approach is proposed for a class of second order nonlinear systems which can be used to robotic manipulators, space crafts, satellites and so on. By using equivalent output injection sliding mode observer (SMO) method, the new designed TSMC can achieve finite-time stability ...

Event-Triggered Nonsingular Terminal Sliding-Mode Control

IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics
This article studies event-triggered nonsingular terminal sliding-mode control (TSMC) for a class of nonlinear systems. First, a static event-triggering mechanism is implemented in the nonsingular TSMC design. It is shown that the sliding variable can reach the quasi-sliding-mode band and the states can converge to a neighborhood of the equilibrium ...

Design of Terminal Sliding Modes in the presence of Control Bounds

2019 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA), 2019
Terminal sliding modes (TSM) and their variants have been applied in diverse systems, most notably robotic manipulators. The primary motivations for their application are that they allow for fast and finite-time convergence of the states being controlled to their desired values.

Terminal Sliding Mode Control of the Flexible Manipulator

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Aimed at the finite-time stabilization problem of a class of flexible manipulators, a stabilization controller based on terminal sliding mode control was proposed in this paper. Firstly, the nonlinear model of flexible manipulators was transformed into linear system through the exact state feedback linearization.

Terminal Sliding Mode Control of Microgrid Inverter Systems

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications
ABSTRACTTo enhance the power quality of microgrid inverters and reduce the influence of changes in inductance parameters and external disturbances on the direct power control of the inverter system, a terminal sliding mode control strategy with a variable exponential power reaching law has been proposed.

Exponential fast terminal sliding mode control

2010 Chinese Control and Decision Conference, 2010
Improving fuzzy neural network (FNN) systems approximate unknown nonlinear continuous functions is proposed. The concept of exponential fast terminal sliding mode is introduced into the learning algorithm. The Lyapunov stability analysis guarantees that the approximation is stable and converges to the unknown function with improved speed.

Continuous adaptive terminal sliding-mode control

2016 IEEE 11th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2016
This paper proposes a continuous adaptive terminal sliding-mode control for nonlinear systems. The new terminal sliding-mode manifold can enable the elimination of the singularity problem associated with conventional terminal sliding-mode control. Two different schemes for continuous terminal sliding-mode controller design are utilized for the control ...

Design of nonsingular terminal sliding mode surface

2010 8th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation, 2010
The design conditions of traditional terminal sliding surface for second order system are raised, and proved the singular phenomenon is inevitable when use the traditional terminal sliding mode surface. A new nonsingular terminal sliding mode surface is proposed for second order nonlinear dynamic system with external disturbance.

Terminal sliding mode control for aeroelastic systems

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2012
An aeroelastic system is a nonlinear system with two freedoms, i.e., the plunge displacement and the pitch angle, in a dynamic system model. A chaos effect or a limit cycle oscillation is presumably attributed to the nonlinear effect of the pitch angle mentioned above or the interaction between the aerodynamic behaviors.

Variable Structure Systems with Terminal Sliding Modes

2007
In this chapter, we discuss recent developments in a special topic of Variable Structure Systems, namely, the terminal sliding mode control. Dynamic properties of the terminal sliding mode control systems are explored and their applications in single input single output (SISO) systems and multi input multi output (MIMO) systems are presented.
