Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Adaptive Responses of Tropical Crops: A Multi‐Scale Omics Integrated Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tropical crops integrate genomic, morphological, physiological, and ecological adaptations to thrive under extreme and variable environments. This review highlights how natural selection, domestication, and breeding shape stress resilience, resource‐use strategies, and productivity in sugarcane, banana, cassava, rubber and oil palm, offering new routes

Constituintes químicos de Ottonia corcovadensis Miq. da floresta Amazônica: atribuição dos deslocamentos químicos dos átomos de hidrogênio e carbono Chemical constituents of Ottonia corcovadensis Miq. from Amazon forest: ¹h and 13c chemical shift assignments

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2004
In an ethanolic extract of leaves of Ottonia corcovadensis (Piperaceae) were identified sixteen terpenoids of essential oil and the three flavonoids 3',4',5,5',7-pentamethoxyflavone (1), 3',4',5,7-tetramethoxyflavone (2) and 5-hydroxy-3',4',5',7 ...

Field-Grown Rice Plants Become More Productive When Exposed to Artificially Damaged Weed Volatiles at the Seedling Stage

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
It is known that undamaged plants that have been exposed to volatiles from damaged con- or heterospecific plants become more resistant against herbivores. This is one of the plants’ induced resistant responses against herbivores.
