Tetra-tert-butylpyrazole and tetra-tert-butylthiophene
Tetrahedron Letters, 1992Abstract Tetra-tert.butylpyrazole (4) and tetra-tert.butylthiophene (11) were prepared starting from the seven membered cycloalkyne 1 and a reductive desulfurization in the last step. Some reactions of 4 and 11 are described. X-ray structural analyses of 11 and the corresponding S,S-dioxide were carried out.

Bis(tert-butylsulfonyl)ethyne and 1-tert-butylsulfinyl-2-tert-butylsulfonylethyne
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2006The title compounds are electron-poor ethynes. The structure determination of bis(tert-butylsulfonyl)ethyne, C10H18O4S2, (I), is the first of a bis-sulfonyl-substituted ethyne. The molecule is situated on a crystallographic inversion centre. The S-Csp bond [1.737 (2) A] is the longest of this type reported to date.

The vapor pressures of methyl tert-butyl ether, ethyl tert-butyl ether, isopropyl tert-butyl ether, tert-amyl methyl ether, and tert-amyl ethyl ether were measured by ebulliometry or the static method in the pressure ranges 14--102 and 3--835 kPa (methyl tert-butyl ether), respectively.

Activation parameters for tert-butyl rotation in tert-butyldimethylamine
Tetrahedron, 1971Abstract Unequivocal evidence for tert-butyl rotation in tert-butyldimethylamine (I) has been obtained using dynamic NMR spectroscopy. A total NMR line shape analysis which accounts for a significant variation in T 2 with temperature for the tert-butyl resonance gives E a = 6·4 ± 0·3 kcal/mole. Δ H ‡ = 6·2 ± 0·3 kcal/mole.

Interconversion equilibria between tert-butylbenzenes and tert-butyltoluenes
Petroleum Chemistry, 2008The equilibrium of six positional isomerization reactions in the systems of sterically unhindered tert-butylbenzenes (TBB) and tert-butyltoluenes (TBT) was experimentally studied in the liquid phase over a wide temperature range. The thermodynamic characteristics of the reactions were obtained, their interpretation was given, and the enthalpy of ...
