The transferability of plasmid-mediated tetracycline, erythromycin, and clindamycin resistance was studied in 63 clinical isolates of the Bacteroides fragilis group. Of 48 strains which were tetracycline resistant (Tcr), the regulation of both the expression of Tcr and its transferability was shown to be under inducible control by tetracycline.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global threat driven by antimicrobial use in aquaculture and livestock. Resistant pathogens and genes can spread across humans, animals, and the environment through interconnected ecosystems. Using a One Health approach, this review emphasizes antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory strengthening, enhanced ...

What Makes an “Ideal” Cell Line for Recombinant Adeno‐Associated Virus Production?
Several host cell types have been used to produce rAAVs to date. Cell line‐specific traits that are beneficial in the context of rAAV manufacturing are reviewed here, with the goal of developing a consensus on the ‘ideal’ characteristics that an rAAV production host should possess (created with Biorender.com).

The Genetics of Tetracycline Resistance in Staphylococcus aureus [PDF]
Eighty-one strains ofStaphylococcus aureus that appeared to be tetracycline resistant on the basis of a preliminary disc-diffusion test were examined fro resistance to tetracycline and to the semi-synthetic tetracycline, minocycline. Minimum inhibitory concentration (m.i.c.) values for both drugs were determined after induction of the strains by growth

The effects of oxytetracycline on the intestinal Escherichia coli flora of newly weaned pigs
Four recently weaned pigs were dosed orally with oxytetracycline. This caused a rapid increase in the incidence of tetracycline resistance (TcR) among Escherichia coli isolates from the faecal flora.

This study develops a nano‐enzyme patch (ezPatch) targeting bone interfaces. Utilizing ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer (LMCT) catalysis and bone‐targeting ligands on copper nanosheets, ezPatch simultaneously scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and generates oxygen in situ at bone‐losing sites.

Fungal Antimicrobial Resistance: Mechanisms, Drivers, and Global Clinical Burden
ABSTRACT Fungal antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing concern for world health caused by an increase in multidrug‐resistant infections, an increase in environmental reservoirs, and the ineffectiveness of current antifungal treatments. Fungal infections continue to be largely excluded from AMR initiatives while causing over 1.6 million deaths ...
