DNA‐mimic for Specific Surface Functionalization of Zr‐MOFs for Bacterial Targeting

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We introduce phosphotyrosine‐modified PNA as a superior, single‐step post‐synthesis surface coating for PCN‐222. The DNA mimic allows for controlled post‐functionalization with single‐stranded DNA for the attachment of protein moieties for bacterial targeting. ABSTRACT Nanosized metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are versatile platforms used in biomedical

Engineered Optogenetic Circuits In Yeast with Self‐Sustained Outputs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Optogenetic quorum‐sensing (OptoQS) circuit enables Saccharomyces cerevisiae to record transient light stimulus with self‐sustained outputs. Panel a indicates the design of the OptoQS circuit based on G‐protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling cascade. Panel b indicates the mode of action of surrogate messenger‐mediated signal transmission at the cell

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Interfacial Proton‐Relay Microenvironment Enables Self‐Driven Singlet Oxygen Generation under Neutral Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An interfacial proton‐relay microenvironment at MoS2‐CuCl heterostructures enables selective O2 activation to 1O2 under neutral conditions. Electron‐deficient sulfur sites mediate proton transfer to Cu‐bound O2, accelerating *OOH hydrogenation while suppressing O─O bond cleavage, achieving stable, efficient pollutant removal.

Determination of Tetracyclines and Their Epimers in Agricultural Soil Fertilized with Swine Manure by Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2012
A rapid, sensitive and specific ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) method was developed for the analysis of tetracycline antibiotics, including tetracycline (TC), oxytetracycline (OTC), chlortetracycline (CTC)

CREAT: A CRISPR‐Based Genome Trimming Strategy for Systematic Identification of Dispensable Regions and Rapid Genome Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current genome‐reduction methods work in a trial‐and‐error fashion, constituting a long‐standing bottleneck in the research. We developed CREAT (CRISPR‐based genome trimming with a multi‐homology‐arm template), a CRISPR‐based genetic approach that enables systematically classifying essential versus non‐essential genomic regions and subsequently ...

Multi‐Targeting Carnosic Acid Kills Drug‐Resistant Helicobacter pylori With Narrow‐Spectrum Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carnosic acid selectively eradicates drug‐resistant Helicobacter pylori through a multi‐targeted mechanism involving urease inhibition, membrane disruption, and biofilm eradication. It exhibits no detectable resistance, potent in vivo efficacy, and minimal impact on gut microbiota, positioning it as a promising narrow‐spectrum lead compound against ...

Concurrence of Inactivation Enzyme-Encoding Genes tet(X), blaEBR, and estT in Empedobacter Species from Chickens and Surrounding Environments

open access: yesFoods
The emergence of inactivation enzyme-encoding genes tet(X), blaEBR, and estT challenges the effectiveness of tetracyclines, β-lactams, and macrolides.

Conformational Snapshots of CydDC in a Native Lipid Bilayer Coupling Heme Transport to Antibiotic Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phylogenetic and biochemical analyses of the heme transporter CydDC reveal its functional conservation throughout bacterial evolution and demonstrate its unique asymmetric allosteric mechanism. Furthermore, impairment of CydDC function directly affects bacterial antibiotic resistance and likely compromises antibiotic efficacy through drug efflux.

Molecular mechanisms of antibiotic co-resistance among carbapenem resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

open access: yesJournal of Infection in Developing Countries, 2019
Introduction: The spread of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is difficult to control especially in the hospitals due to the successful mobilization and evolution of the genetic elements harboring the resistant determinants.
