Reconstitution of TGFBR2-Mediated Signaling Causes Upregulation of GDF-15 in HCT116 Colorectal Cancer Cells. [PDF]
Although inactivating frameshift mutations in the Transforming growth factor beta receptor type 2 (TGFBR2) gene are considered as drivers of microsatellite unstable (MSI) colorectal tumorigenesis, consequential alterations of the downstream target ...

How Numbers, Nature, and Immune Status of Foxp3+ Regulatory T-Cells Shape the Early Immunological Events in Tumor Development [PDF]
The influence of CD4(+)CD25(+)Foxp3(+) regulatory T-cells (Tregs) on cancer progression has been demonstrated in a large number of preclinical models and confirmed in several types of malignancies. Neoplastic processes trigger an increase of Treg numbers

Ammonia Detoxification Inhibits Liver Metastasis by Reshaping Hepatic Microenvironment
Liver metastasis diverts aspartate into hyperactive pyrimidine synthesis, disrupting urea cycling and causing pathogenic ammonia accumulation. Ammonia dually reprograms the microenvironment by: (1) activating hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) into pro‐fibrotic metastasis‐associated fibroblasts (MAFs), and (2) suppressing anti‐tumor monocytes/macrophages ...

Unique tracheal fluid microRNA signature predicts response to FETO in patients with congenital diaphragmatic hernia [PDF]
"Epub ahead of print 2015 Jan 5"OBJECTIVE AND BACKGROUND: Our objective was to determine the fetal in vivo microRNA signature in hypoplastic lungs of human fetuses with severe isolated congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and changes in tracheal and ...

Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

Aims Ginisortamab, a first‐in‐class human monoclonal antibody for the treatment of advanced solid tumours, binds to gremlin‐1 and restores bone morphogenetic protein signalling. We used pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modelling to characterize the relationship between ginisortamab dose and serum gremlin‐1 binding, using model‐based simulations ...

Immunoregulatory Cytokine (TGF-ß And IL-10) Responses in Mice Inoculated With Protoscoleces and Major Hydatid Fluid Antigens of Cystic Echinococcosis [PDF]
"nBackground: Our objectives were to investigate whether immunomodulatory cytokines, TGF-β and IL-10, are stimulated in response to cystic echinococcosis (CE) components in mice model, and whether major hydatid fluid antigens or live protoscoleces could ...
