CCR5 is characteristic of Th1 lymphocytes

Nature, 1998
CD4+ lymphocytes can be assigned to two subsets1. Th1 lymphocytes secrete interferon gamma (IFNγ) and lymphotoxin, promoting cell-mediated immunity to intracellular pathogens; and Th2 lymphocytes secrete interleukins 4 and 5 (IL-4 and IL-5), which function in allergy and humoral immunity to parasites.

The Th1/Th2 balance in autoimmunity

Current Opinion in Immunology, 1995
The study of autoimmune disease in the context of T-helper type 1 (Th1) and T-helper type 2 (Th2) CD4+ T-cell responses demonstrates that the relative contribution of either T-cell type to the development of a particular autoimmune response can influence whether or not this response leads to clinical disease.

MIG Th1 chemokine in Vitiligo.

La Clinica terapeutica, 2018
The importance of the Type-1 helper immune response in the development of Vitiligo (Vit), and of chemokine receptor (CXCR)3 receptor and its chemokine monokine induced by interferon (IFN)-γ(MIG) has been shown by several studies. MIG/ interferon (IFN)-γ-inducible protein 10 (IP10) /CXCR3 axis mediated T-cell recruitment into the skin in Vit is an early

TH1-TH2: a Procrustean paradigm

Nature Immunology, 2003
Although immunologists have found the dichotomous helper T cell subset model a useful construct, it is beginning to show its age. Some suggest that proponents of the TH1-TH2 dichotomy are overzealous in making the data conform to the scheme, like Procrustes who stretched or truncated his guests so that they would fit his guest bed.

TH1 and TH2 in Human Diseases

Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1996
A large body of evidence suggests the existence of functionally polarized human T cell responses based on their profile of cytokine secretion in both the CD4+ T helper (Th) and the CD8+ T cytotoxic (Tc) cell subset. Human Th1 and Th2 cells not only produce a different set of cytokines but also exhibit distinct functional properties and the preferential

An Update on Human Th1 and Th2 Cells

International Archives of Allergy and Immunology, 2009
The existence of functionally polarized human T cell responses based on their profile of cytokine secretion in both the CD4+ T helper (Th) and the CD8+ T cytotoxic cell subset has been established. Human Th1 and Th2 cells not only produce a different set of cytokines but also exhibit distinct functional properties and preferential expression of some ...

Sarcoidosis and the Th1 chemokine MIG.

La Clinica terapeutica, 2018
Sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disease, affecting any organ, and that can be discovered by accident in approximately 5% of cases. High levels of the type-1 helper (Th1)-dependent chemokine, monokine induced by interferon (IFN)-γ (MIG)/chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand (CXCL)9, and its receptor CXCR3 have been reported in bronchoalveolar lavage and

Th1 chemokines in ulcerative colitis.

La Clinica terapeutica, 2015
Many studies have shown that chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor (CXCR)3 (a chemokine receptor in the CXC family) and its ligand chemokines, monokine induced by interferon (IFN)-γ(MIG), IFN-γ-inducible protein 10 (IP-10) and IFN-inducible T-cell α chemoattractant (I-TAC), are strongly overexpressed in the intestinal mucosa of mice with experimental ...

The TH1/TH2 paradigm in allergy

Immunotechnology, 1998
Recent evidence has been accumulated to suggest that allergen-reactive type 2 helper T cells (Th2) play a triggering role in the activation and/or recruitment of IgE antibody-producing B cells, mast cells and eosinophils, i.e. the cellular triad involved in the allergic inflammation.
