Th1 T-CELL AND MONOCYTE DEFECTS
Pediatric Clinics of North America, 2000Mutations predisposing to infections with intracellular pathogens and affecting Th1 T-cells and monocytes have been identified in the past few years. In this article, the authors review the interaction of T cells and monocytes in the context of host defense against intracellular pathogens. Known genetic defects in these pathways are summarized.

Immune responses can be mediated by cells (cell-mediated immunity) or through circulating factors like antibodies (humoral immunity), depending on whether naive T cells differentiate into T helper 1 (Th1) or T helper 2 (Th2) cells. Li et al .

Zeitschrift fur Rheumatologie, 2012
T helper cells contribute to the induction and maintenance of rheumatic inflammation through the secretion of cytokines. The analysis of Th1 cells expressing interferon-γ, Th17 cells expressing interleukin-17 and the newly described Th1+17 cells could give insight into the pathophysiological mechanisms of rheumatic diseases.

T-cell subsets (Th1 versus Th2)
Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, 2000To understand the current status of knowledge in the basic field of polarized specific immune responses mediated by CD4+ T helper (Th) lymphocytes, based on their profile of cytokine production (type 1 or Th1 and type 2 or Th2).Relevant articles and publications from the medical literature, especially review articles dealing with properties, mechanisms

[Th1 cells, Th2 cells and atopic dermatitis].
Der Hautarzt; Zeitschrift fur Dermatologie, Venerologie, und verwandte Gebiete, 1997The immunological hallmark of atopic dermatitis (AD) is a Th1/Th2 dysbalance. The reaction to high molecular weight environmental allergens (e.g. pollen, house dust mites), production of IgE and activation of eosinophil granulocytes result from Th2 dominance. The Th2-cytokine interleukin-4 (IL-4) is necessary for IgE synthesis.

Dendritic cell regulation of TH1-TH2 development
Nature Immunology, 2000Understanding the control exerted by cytokines on T helper cell subsets 1 and 2 (TH1-TH2) development has progressed to a fairly satisfying knowledge of intracellular signals and transcription factors. Less is understood about the molecular basis of TH1-TH2 development exerted by other parameters, such as how the antigen presenting cell can influence ...

CD4+ cell memory: the enigma of Th1 cells
Trends in Molecular Medicine, 2003Despite a wealth of information pertaining to functional and phenotypic attributes of memory CD4(+) cells, the mechanisms that underlie the generation and persistence of memory in this subset are largely unknown. Recent work suggests that the development of memory might be differently regulated in T-helper-1 and T-helper-2 cells, owing to differences ...

Th1/Th2 Cell Differentiation and Molecular Signals
2014The distinctive differentiated states of the CD4+ T helper cells are determined by the set of transcription factors and the genes transcribed by the transcription factors. In vitro induction models, the major determinants of the cytokines present during the T-cell receptor (TCR)-mediated activation process.

Th1/Th2 Cell’s Function in Immune System
2014CD4+ T helper cells regulate appropriate cellular and humoral immune responses to a wide range of pathogens and get involved in many diseases progress. The balance of the earliest determined CD4+ T helper cell subsets, Th1 and Th2, play an important role in allergy and autoimmune diseases.
