[Th1 cells, Th2 cells and atopic dermatitis].

Der Hautarzt; Zeitschrift fur Dermatologie, Venerologie, und verwandte Gebiete, 1997
The immunological hallmark of atopic dermatitis (AD) is a Th1/Th2 dysbalance. The reaction to high molecular weight environmental allergens (e.g. pollen, house dust mites), production of IgE and activation of eosinophil granulocytes result from Th2 dominance. The Th2-cytokine interleukin-4 (IL-4) is necessary for IgE synthesis.

Dendritic cell regulation of TH1-TH2 development

Nature Immunology, 2000
Understanding the control exerted by cytokines on T helper cell subsets 1 and 2 (TH1-TH2) development has progressed to a fairly satisfying knowledge of intracellular signals and transcription factors. Less is understood about the molecular basis of TH1-TH2 development exerted by other parameters, such as how the antigen presenting cell can influence ...

Inactivation of Th1 and Th2 Cells by Feeding Ovalbumina

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1996
Several different mechanisms have been implicated in oral tolerance to protein antigens, depending on the nature and dose of antigen used and the species under study. Here, we have investigated the basis of unresponsiveness in a well-established model of oral tolerance in mice fed 25 mg ovalbumin (OVA).

Molecules associated with human Th1 or Th2 cells.

European cytokine network, 1998
In the last few years, some surface molecules which preferentially associate with human Th1 or Th2 cells have been described. Th1-related molecules include CD26, membrane IFN-gamma, LAG-3, CCR5 and CXCR3, whereas CD62L, CD30, CCR3, CCR4, CCR8, and in a certain way even CXCR4, preferentially associate with human Th2 cells during certain phases of their ...
