Synopsis of the species of Thelohanellus Kudo, 1933 (Myxozoa: Myxosporea: Bivalvulida)

Systematic Parasitology, 2013
A synopsis of the species of Thelohanellus Kudo, 1933 (Myxozoa: Myxosporea: Myxobolidae) is presented. It includes a total of 108 nominal species. For each species, the most relevant morphological and morphometric characteristics are provided, together with data on the type-host and locality, the site of infection within the host and the original ...

Supplemental diagnosis of a myxozoan parasite from common carp Cyprinus carpio: Synonymy of Thelohanellus xinyangensis with Thelohanellus kitauei

Veterinary Parasitology, 2011
Thelohanellus kitauei Egusa et Nakajima, 1981, was described from common carp Cyprinus carpio L. in Japan. In China, a myxosporean infecting the intestinal tissue of the same host species was described as Thelohanellus xinyangensis Xie, Gong, Xiao, Guo, Li et Guo, 2000, despite many similarities to T. kitauei. To examine the potential conspecificity of

Thelohanellus misgurni (Kudo, 1919) infection on the fins of Chinese muddy loach Misgurnus mizolepis

open access: yesHangug Eobyeong Haghoeji, 2011
On September in 2010, myxosporidian parasites were found on the fins of Chinese muddy loach, Misgurnus mizolepis, Several cysts of approximately 2 mm diameter were observed on the fins. Numerous spores were found in the cyst. The total length of the spore was 13.0 to 15.8 , and the width of spore was 6.0 to 7.5 . As the results, the myxosporidians were

Molecular phylogenetics reveals a species complex pattern of closely related members of genus Thelohanellus (Cnidaria: Myxosporea) from the Indian subcontinent.

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2020
Out of the total 2600 myxozoan species reported so far, Thelohanellus Kudo, 1933 is the second most prevalent genus comprising of about 150 species after Myxobolus Butschli, 1882 infecting both freshwater and marine fishes.

Morphological and molecular characterization of Thelohanellus hoffmanni sp. nov. (Myxozoa) infecting goldfish Carassius auratus auratus

Diseases of Aquatic Organisms, 2015
A new species of the genus Thelohanellus Kudo, 1933 (Myxosporea, Bivalvulida) was isolated from the fins of goldfish Carassius auratus auratus (Linnaeus 1758). The fish had been imported from China by an Austrian retailer. Nodules from the margins of the fins contained pyriform myxospores with a singular polar capsule.
