Catalytic Enantioselective Passerini Three‐Component Reaction
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2007A [(salen)-AlIIICl] complex catalyzes the Passerini three-component reaction of an aldehyde, a carboxylic acid, and an isocyanide to afford alpha -acyloxyamides, e.g., I, with good to excellent enantioselectivity. A variety of nonchelating substrates can be used to generate the versatile chiral products. [on SciFinder (R)]

A Novel Three-Component Reaction toward Dihydrooxazolopyridines
Organic Letters, 2008Isocyano dihydropyridones accessible via a recently reported multicomponent reaction react with aldehydes and amines to afford dihydrooxazolopyridines in high yield. The scope and limitations of this novel multicomponent reaction were investigated. The efficient combination of two highly variable multicomponent reactions allows the construction of a ...

Three-Component Reactions for Post-Polymerization Modifications
ACS Macro Letters, 2013A Cu-catalyzed multi-component reaction (CuMCR) of terminal alkynes, sulfonyl azides, and amines was employed in a post-polymerization modification process. The reaction was conducted on polystyrene bearing 20 mol % alkyne groups with 4-toluenesulfonyl azide and dihexylamine in the presence of a Cu(PPh3)3Br/diisopropylethylamine catalyst.
