Throughput Optimization in High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we investigate throughput optimization in High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA). Specifically, we propose offline and online algorithms for adjusting the Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) used by the network to schedule data ...

Dynamic Proteomic Analysis of Pancreatic Mesenchyme Reveals Novel Factors That Enhance Human Embryonic Stem Cell to Pancreatic Cell Differentiation

open access: yesStem Cells International, 2016
Current approaches in human embryonic stem cell (hESC) to pancreatic beta cell differentiation have largely been based on knowledge gained from developmental studies of the epithelial pancreas, while the potential roles of other supporting tissue ...

Novel Antiretroviral Structures from Marine Organisms

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
In spite of significant advancements and success in antiretroviral therapies directed against HIV infection, there is no cure for HIV, which scan persist in a human body in its latent form and become reactivated under favorable conditions.

Scheduling for next generation WLANs: filling the gap between offered and observed data rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In wireless networks, opportunistic scheduling is used to increase system throughput by exploiting multi-user diversity. Although recent advances have increased physical layer data rates supported in wireless local area networks (WLANs), actual ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On the Stability of Isolated and Interconnected Input-Queued Switches under Multiclass Traffic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this correspondence, we discuss the stability of scheduling algorithms for input-queueing (IQ) and combined input/output queueing (CIOQ) packet switches.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Exploring the impact of primer length on efficient gene detection via high-throughput sequencing

open access: yesNature Communications
Reverse transcription (RT) is a crucial step in most RNA analysis methods. Optimizing protocols for this initial stage is critical for effective target detection, particularly when working with limited input RNA.
