Protein synthesis rate is the predominant regulator of protein expression during differentiation

open access: yesMolecular Systems Biology, 2013
External perturbations, by forcing cells to adapt to a new environment, often elicit large‐scale changes in gene expression resulting in an altered proteome that improves the cell's fitness in the new conditions.

Polyphenol-Based Design of Functional Olive Leaf Infusions

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2019
The beneficial properties of polyphenols are widely recognized, and polyphenol-rich olive oil, which is part of the typical Mediterranean diet, has been identified as having positive health effects.

Development and Performance of High Chromium White Cast Irons (HCWCIs) for Wear–Corrosive Environments: A Critical Review

open access: yesMetals, 2023
There is a huge demand for high-performance materials in extreme environments involving wear and corrosion. High chromium white cast irons (HCWCIs) display better performance than many materials since they are of sufficient hardness for wear protection ...

A General Class of Throughput Optimal Routing Policies in Multi-hop Wireless Networks

open access: yes, 2011
This paper considers the problem of throughput optimal routing/scheduling in a multi-hop constrained queueing network with random connectivity whose special case includes opportunistic multi-hop wireless networks and input-queued switch fabrics. The main

High-Throughput Venomics

open access: yesJournal of Proteome Research, 2023
In this study, we present high-throughput (HT) venomics, a novel analytical strategy capable of performing a full proteomic analysis of a snake venom within 3 days. This methodology comprises a combination of RP-HPLC-nanofractionation analytics, mass spectrometry analysis, automated in-solution tryptic digestion, and high-throughput proteomics.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Effects of the Generation Size and Overlap on Throughput and Complexity in Randomized Linear Network Coding

open access: yes, 2010
To reduce computational complexity and delay in randomized network coded content distribution, and for some other practical reasons, coding is not performed simultaneously over all content blocks, but over much smaller, possibly overlapping subsets of ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
